I would love to set up a Team Titleist Event in Wisconsin next year. It would be fun to get like minded Titleist loyalists together in Green Bay at Thornberry Creek at Oneida. How can I make this happen?

Not too difficult, you just have to put in the leg work. My advice from doing local events in San Diego... Select your date not to conflict with other major Team Titleist events. Find a course that can accommodate the number of players and date you have chosen. Contact Allan Blocker here at Titleist so he can post it on the "events" link. Do a post on the "travel" link with your contact information with details of the event (see past posts on the San Diego outing for ideas). I love seeing these "regional" outings and the more that happen across multiple states, the more people get a chance to meet up that can't get to the bigger events. Good luck, I know there are a lot of locals up there ready to support you.

Thank you for the encouragement! I have a background in event planning and will love to make this happen. Is it best to have a course with accommodations or would attendees make their own arrangements? How many people on average attend these events? Is there an expectation to have multiple days or is one day enough? I just want to make sure it aligns well with other Team Titleist events. I am really looking forward to setting this up. A lot of good tracks that host events around Green Bay.

Probably differs depending on location. Here in San Diego we have a lot of places to stay so travelers just make their own arrangements. We usually get about 5 or 6 travelers and the others are local. One day outing but we have seen travelers plan additional rounds at other local courses to make the trip more worthwhile. If you can find a course that will allow you to adjust your numbers, that is ideal. You don't want to get stuck with a guaranteed number and not make the quota. We usually plan for 16 - 20 golfers. We are a little different too in that being located with Titleist offices, we try to get a number of Titleist employees to join us. My suggestion is to start off small, one day with mostly locals for 12 people. Once you have had success you will find most want to repeat so you just build up attendance from there. People like routine so try to repeat either the location or annual date so they can informally plan ahead of time.

Contact TYLER H, who is from Wisconsin. Sure he has some good contacts and active TT member.

It may be helpful to use a course that is Titleist friendly. An example is Washington County. The pro there, Craig, often is used by Titleist for one day fittings at other courses in WI. That helps a potential attractive discount. Whistling Straits rents Titleist sets but the fee is $500 plus caddie tip. Locations central to Kohler, Sand Valley, and Erin Hills will be appealing to others in Midwest states to make a trip of it. Allan at least can work on some goodies with you.

As one of Dale’s regular travelers, I generally try to get 2-3 other rounds while in SD prior to returning to the frozen tundra. Whether you arrange for GB or elsewhere in WI, I expect to make it. A round with a group lunch is all I expect.

I know there are several TT members from the greater Chicago area that would make the trip.

Chuck, I would've reached out to Tyler first before throwing his name out there. Just my 2 cents since I'm not a fan of name dropping but that's me.

COBrien, I held one a few years ago at my course after seeing a few other TT members hold one at their course. Basically I spoke with my pro first to make sure I could get 4-6 tee times for the TT event. I was given 4 tee times and that was it. From there, posted on here (not FB) and basically a first come, first in situation. I think we had 15 players. A few weeks before it was ready to go, one of the LOVELY TT staff members sent me a goodie box for all the participants, definitely a nice addition to the event. And I think everyone had a great time catching up with old TT Members and meeting new ones. And I actually emailed my GM/Pro a few weeks ago about possible holding another one but I don't think it's gonna happen. Tee times are TOUGH to come by these days due to the growing interest in golf now. And we can only bring 6 guests per month now. Oh well. Hopefully someday I can have another one.

Best of luck planning one and I'm sure it'll be a blast! Cheers

McHenry IL, that's close to Wisconsin.. LOL
  10. I'd love that event! Look forward to participating!
  11. Being in metro Detroit and having Wisconsin as a work territory, I would do what I can to make it out for TT event.
