That was quite the beat down; I didn't expect such a large delta. I'm sure the "home soil" advantage for the Europeans will be deafening.

Thanks, but the true test will come in 2023. See you in Italy!

Thank you. I volunteered 4 days including the 3 game days. Plenty of cheers for Team USA, of course, but there wasn't much in bad taste directed at Team Euro. Casey and Garcia both got cheers for holing pitches. I hope the message back across the pond that the crowd was reasonably well behaved. Sorry there were't more international spectators due to lingering rules on COVID. It would have been great to have a more balanced crowd.

There were the Guardians of the Cup in their blue and yellow garb for the matches in the crowds and were in many selfies with US fans.

I wish it would have been more competitive. Rory and Sergio are my two favorite golfers.
  8. Yes really hope the next one is more competitive , but one thing for sure is that you cannot complain about watching great golf - whichever side is playing it! Lets hope for a proper close one in 2023!

Understand they are going to look into the current system on how they pick the team in Europe for the future. I am sure it will be closer next time. Having worked at a Ryder Cup (The War by the Shore 1991) the crowds can get rowdy at times. This one was somewhat tame, with a few exceptions. As they found out at the PGA at Kiawah the food and beverage prices have really soared and the quality has dropped. A sign of the times. People shelled out $13 for beer here.

I think the next will be closer. I’m an active duty Navy guy (26+ years) and cheered 100% for the Americans, but there was a confluence of factors that contributed to the score. 1. The age differences. US players were much younger across the board; 2. Because of #1, the course (a brutal walk) and conditions the first 3 days with the wind, helped wear down the Euros a bit; and 3. Captain Stricker’s brilliant move to start with foursomes. This meant the Euros would really get the full feel of the course under competition conditions until after the four ball in the afternoon, giving the US a chance to get out to a great start. Of course, execution was key, and the players came through on day 1. But, I feel if we went with four ball in the AM on day 1, the Euros would have made it closer in the end. And, let’s not forget, it’s not like the matches were all blowouts. Many were close. Take out Rory’s first 2 days of horrific scores, and almost all went to at least the 16th hole. So, Italy should be a good test. Can’t wait for 2025 near my home town on Strong Island! I’ll be there for my first Ryder Cup!!!

A rout for the U.S. for sure, but I'm not buying into the media's assessment of U.S. dominance for the next decade. Europe needs to regroup and retool for sure, but they have some pretty good young players over there also. I think that we should just take it one Ryder Cup at a time.

The US team's performance was quite remarkable.

Looking forward to the next Ryder Cup in Rome,

Our European men were outclassed by the American youngsters, I suspect this American group of players will dominate the Ryder Cup matches over the next 10yrs or so, this defeat should signal a "changing of the guard" for the oldies in our team with the upcoming youngsters stepping up to the plate, similar to what Captain Stricker has done, I do hope Padraig gets the chance of another head to head with Steve . I look forward to Italy when hopefully we will be back to normal regarding spectator access from both sides.
    Just my thoughts.

  14. Great performance from the USA team and my favourite player JT ... outstanding!
It is hard to argue with the comments and reasons except a number of the points for Europe came from the old guard Poulter and Westwood in the singles and Garcia with Rahm
Europe need to regroup and go into the next match with some good form as a few looked overcooked and a burned out certainly struggling with poor form in the weeks running up to the match

Excited for Team USA! The real test will be Rome. Nothing but respect for the class that the Europeans showed the whole week. Love that they tried to win over the Wisconsin fans with cheeseheads and Packer hats.
