  1. Hi TT:

Anyone else put off by the BMW commercial with the remote horn honking? I understand a little gamesman, but promoting this behavior only reinforces the boorish behavior that has crept more and more on the course and in the stands.

I must have missed that one. The one with the couple starting their playlist courtesy of a particular digital assistant was ok the first 1,000 times during the coverage of the Ryder Cup, but after that it was just nauseating.

I agree with Keith M. That's why I was forced to dvr the entire Ryder Cup. I then can fast forward through the ads and enjoy the golf.

Except the "play through" commercials where you have to watch or miss some key shots that they won't even replay when they switch back to the full broadcast. I really did appreciate the commercial-free broadcasting of the USGA events this year. It feels like the "play through" commercials have actually doubled the commercial time. I get it on regular events but something this dramatic, especially on the singles day, would be much better uninterrupted and showing more full shot coverage. Fox stepped up and got Rolex to cover the USGA events, seems like NBC could do the same. My opinion anyway.

Agreed...hopefully most viewers see the ad as more jest than behavior suggestion.

Missed it. Never pay much attention to the commercials, besides, I was focusing on the on the matches that were going on the the left side of the screen. Love that the play was very seldom interrupted. Cable TV was intended to be commercial free, so please do not get me on my soapbox. Hakuna matata. The Ryder Cup was my main focus and what a match. The young guns from the US really shined.

The NBC, ESPN, and BBC broadcasts were available on a $17 radio sold onsite. I mostly had ESPN on with Greg Norman on color. It didn't make any difference. Commercials on the channels and they could be 2-3 minutes behind real time. Would have been great to pay for tickets and get commercial free real time broadcast. Likewise very little following of the last 5 groups. It's not like these guys were outside the top 125 in FEDEX points.

I'm also had mixed feelings about the food. Cold cheeseburger with the cheese unmelted for 12 dollars and beer was $1 an ounce for Buds. The PGA Tour definitely made money this week.

Not saying it wasn't a great event, but these were the points I would suggest for improvement.

I mean, they were in a commercial man. I think you just gotta giggle and move on.
  9. Thankfully the Sky Sports UK coverage had very minimal Ads / commercials - was a dream!

I’ve owned BMWs…never again. Those were the dumbest and worst commercials. Really? Advertising that you can remote honk your BMW? I was able to do that on my 2014 Hyundai…The first time it played I was in the car driving and thought I was being honked at and flinched…stupid! Second, playing through in all sports is the dumbest addition to sports ever. I fast forward through and don’t care what I missed. I bought a big screen TV to see a full screen of whatever sport I’m playing; not shrunk down to 14 inches…Especially in golf where you barely see the ball to begin with. Rant over! Go USA!!
