Okay, you asked our thoughts... Mine might not mirror yours, I used the Players 4 with that strap configuration for 2 years, walking my home course at least 3 to 4 times a week, year round and can only remember one time when the strap separated. Maybe that was due to only carrying 12 clubs, or the length of my strap adjustments, or where it hit on my back, who knows for sure. As for the design, it was a feature that addressed an issue where some players, and many caddies wanted to use a single strap. The configuration allowed a quick conversion for those purposes. Over time, enough feedback of frustration with the straps popping loose inadvertently lead to the discontinuation of this design. No one disagrees that the design did not produce the lasting results intended by the design. I don't see the benefit in continuing to raise the issue since it has been replaced in bag production for some time now. Maybe you can find a cheap used bag with the newer strap configuration and change it out since you like all other aspects of that bag. Hope your frustration is tempered over time and you can find peace in knowing they do a lot of testing and research on all bag designs before they release them to the public and usually get it right.

The configuration on the strapping looks ok to me ,maybe just a manufacturer defect.

I know Titleist moved away from that design. I had a Players 4 with that design and had to replace it after the clasp broke (it was the disc style connector). I liked the convertibility from dual strap to single strap and never had an issue with the strap junction apparatus popping out. The only negative I saw with the design is the constant rubbing of the strap against the apparatus did create wear which could potentially weaken the strap; I'm guessing the bag would age out before the strap became unusable.

When on my first or maybe my second week in a round, one of the straps came off. But that was just once- that time.

I think that piece of plastic there is suppose to move to a balanced location at the back and adjusts itself for the height of the player/user, and also depending on how high or low you want your bag to hang. Once mine had settled in on the adjusted place/position, it never came off anymore.

I use my Players 4 stand bag for walking and riding and I hadn't thought of it till now.
