Where is the best place to sell clubs? I like my miz JPX 900 Tour irons, but I’d really like some T100s to finish off the all Titleist bag.

Trading in is the easiest, but there’s so much money left on the table if you trade instead of sell, IMO.

I would consider selling them on Facebook marketplace. That might be the easiest way to get what you think they’re worth. With Spring right around the corner I’m sure you’ll find someone looking to get their hands on some clubs.

I’ve noticed a lot of places that offer more money if you trade in and get a store credit rather than cash. I’ve also seen places that are looking for specific clubs which yield more money. Some of my favorites are 2ndswing & dallas golf.

Thanks all. I don’t have a FB, but I know some that do, maybe I can look into that. I’ve heard of Sideline Swap, but never used it. eBay is always an option too.

Normally trade in price is about half what the resale price is, if you are willing to sell them yourself. Pgavalueguide.com is the guide that shops use when putting a value on clubs being traded in. It will also give you what they are worth if you are trying to sell them. Agree that some might give you more in shop credit versus cash, depending on how much business you give them.

There are several ways to do this. I always went the trade in route. I delt with Dick's and a local dealer called Moon Golf in Vero Beach, FL. Both places give full PGA trade in value. I recently bought a TSi1 Driver from Dick's. I traded in a Driver and a Putter and also had $50.00 in Dick's rewards. It netted the Driver down to $185.00. That's tough to beat and also, I didn't go through the hassle of dealing with the private sale BS.

Local Craig's List.. No packing or shipping. Cash and less effort.

Good Tip. Meet prospective buyers at a location near you rather than at your home.

I would recommend 2nd Swing. Their trade-in offers are usually fair, and you can do everything online.

You can also look at Dicks/Golf Galaxy, but it’s usually a lower offer. If you can to their website you can see the ballpark of what they would offer you.

I am patient and sell them myself to get a better return. I get the resale price off PGAValueguide.com, the bluebook of golf clubs and put the word out and never fail to sell them. I would never take them to big box stores to sell them. Just my personal opinion and I never purchase from them, I deal with local golf courses/shops (Titleist accounts) that offer fittings/repairs where PGA pros work.

An alternative option to selling them (if it works for you) would be to donate them. There are a lot of high school teams that would be really appreciate to get a set of clubs, set of irons or even just random clubs.

I have had the most success selling on Craigslist. However, recently FB Marketplace and Nextdoor have been good for me.
  13. I've always had good luck with selling my clubs and my son's Junior clubs on Ebay.

I'd recommend getting a facebook account. Marketplace has been surprisingly good to me and have always gotten the most money out of my clubs as opposed to trading them in. The ability to check other people's profiles based on their transaction history ratings, and how long they've been facebook members is a huge plus as well. I'm not an avid facebook user either, but marketplace has been very good so far.
  15. I tried to sell my 15 year-old Cleveland TA5 irons at a local golf shop, and was offered $17 for the set (3-P)! I subsequently learned of a program that the Fort Wayne Parks and Rec department has that helps kids from low-income families get into the great game of golf with free instruction, greens fees and yes, clubs. It was a no-brainer to donate my clubs to this great cause, and the value of the good feeling that I got from doing so far exceeded the $100 or so I might have gotten on EBay for the clubs. Just a suggestion for an alternative to getting ripped off in the used club market.

PGA S.S. will buy them, they will give you what the PGA trade in guide tells you.

The second hand golf club market is nuts at the moment.
Browsing a local golf store here in Carlsbad this week I spotted a 2019 T100 Set 5-G.
The set was very used with significant browning on the 9-G sweet spot.
    Asking Price $1,048.00....insanity!!!

Finding a good set has become a treasure hunt for those looking to get into the game.
Hopefully things level out and used market calms. On a positive note there were not any TSi Drivers in the bargain bins...but there were many SIM 2's....I wonder why?????

    Cheers,

Let the seller beware. I’ve been burned trying to use eBay. From complaints that a used club wasn’t like new to taking shipment, trying the club and then saying it didn’t meet the add and forcing a return. I’ve had it. I now just take a trade-in to us on other merchandise. Less aggravation with buyers not buying in good faith.
Even trade-in will find minor dents on wood. I can only donate a TS 4 wood. They carefully inspect for dents. I never saw it until they denied the trade. And yes, I kept the 4 and 7 woods for now.

I am on another golf forum that has a buy/sell thread so I have had the good fortune to sell clubs there, and get paid directly from the buyer and just pay the paypal fee for goods and services. Really a much better deal than paying Ebays seller fee for higher ticket items like a set of clubs. FB marketplace is another option, their fees are lower than ebay, but they do technically require any items priced over $500 to be local pickup only, no shipping. For local selling I just feel better about using something like Facebook, at least is a little less anonymous than something like Craigslist.
