  1. Hi TT:

Wondering if any TT members would have attempted a downhill lie shot where a slip meant death?

No way! I have vertigo big time. When I played that hole I was 50 yards short of the cliff and still was uncomfortable.

Doubt it. That was a gutsy play by Jordan. also loved his comments right after the shoot and in the presser...

Nope. But I was glad to hear that after Jordan hit that shot and he had time to process it, he came to the conclusion that that probably wasn't the best idea. As an amputee adaptive player myself, I despise downhill lies and have slipped a number of times swinging from them. No way would I have attempted what he did.

Yep and lived to tell about it. Sometimes when we are forced to focus, we can pull off some really great shots. =)

No way as I have a tendency at times to slide forward before my my hands get through the ball

Not me. I don't know how Jordan hit such a great shot there.

Even if I had the guts to try it, I would have chunked it (at best), as my subconscious mind would certainly outweigh my conscious one (which, of course, wants to win), and not permit my body to move weight to my front foot through the finish. It just wouldn't.

For me, that would have been an unplayable lie. I'd take the penalty stroke and 2 club length drop or go back on a line to the fairway, which was pretty close to him if I remember. As it turns out Jordan made a great shot and saved a par. Had I attempted it, I doubt it would be pretty. They'd probably still be picking up my pieces at the bottom of the cliff.

If I had the skill level, I might do it! Heck, I have trouble with balance on side hill lies sometimes!

Man that is an interesting question. If your a player thats just starting out and need the points and the $ to keep your card and every stroke counts... hard to say no. If your rolling in the dough and won a few majors ya gotta weigh the risk.... For me I like that jordan went for it, every shot counts and I got respect for that. I dont know what I would do.
  12. maybe after a drink or 6 lol

I'm sure visitors of Pebble Beach will go to the general spot where Speith hit that incredible shot and say, "He was crazy!" ;-)
