The Saudi-backed Super Golf League - or whatever they’re calling it - is showing the true colors of some of the PGA Tour Players. We’ve all seen the ‘obnoxious greed’ of one C***way staffer who seems willing to compromise any shred of personal integrity to take $$ from an authoritarian regime that has a horrible history of human rights atrocities. I find the disloyalty to the PGA Tour abominable. The same Tour that allows these guys to live lavish lifestyles, earning more money in a week than most of us will make in a lifetime. I hope Titleist uses its leverage with its staffers to steer them away from the SGL.

I've heard one Titleist staffer's name thrown in the mix. My guess is all the manufacturers will want to showcase their equipment with the best players in the world in the top tours. I don't see the SGL lasting very long as it requires consistent and sustained money from sponsors and TV/media rights. From what I understand, the Saudi Kingdom is footing most (if not all) of the bill at this early stage; I just don't see the other necessary monetary sources coming into play because of all the negative publicity associated with SGL.

Didn’t Titleist refuse to pay that person's gambling debts?

I was pleased this week when a lot of the top young players - many of them Titleist staffers - came out strongly against the SGL and its questionable backing.

Could the PGA ban that one particular player from the PGA? Have seen rumors and have also heard the word egotist used. Guess we see how this plays out with PM. Guess with all the oil money involved the SGL can survive as long as they choose. Tour players are independent contractors per se and only get paid when the win place or show. But they are members of the PGA tour and this is something they work towards thru the mini tours and qualifying and have to abide by the PGA membership rules. Often, as we have learned in life, going outside of the rules, have serious consequences. The choice is the players!

I liken this to the top clubs trying to form their own league. It fell flat on it's face. I don't see a majority of players rushing to this. Will it force the PGA Tour change some outdated policies.....probably.

The guys supporting it so far come off looking like money grabbing, self-centered idiots. It's hard to have empathy for some of these guys that are whining.

At the end of the day, it may not have much fan support as well. Little viewership means little money.

If this ever gets off the ground, fields for both this, the Euro tour and the PGA will be watered down and the world ranking points will be impacted and it could convolute entry into certain majors.

It looks like It's starting to fall apart. Just another attempt by the Shark, in his long standing feud with the PGA Tour. Don't know why Mickelson decided to throw in with him, but he's not doing himself any favors.

Any new venture without the top players' support was going to fail. It does seem odd that Phil went "all in" with nothing good to say about the PGA Tour; maybe he thought he had big names behind his lead. It wouldn't surprise me that Bryson was unofficially on board and then left Phil on his own once he realized no other big guns were going to jump ship from the PGA Tour.

It’s a bad look for PM for sure. Phil clearly doesn’t understand or appreciate the work done by Tour Staff to secure the sponsorships, negotiate media deals, etc., etc. His assertion that the PGA Tour is sitting on billions of dollars that the players should have is puzzling to me? No professional league gives players unrestricted access to the digital content produced by the league. The world is changing and the Tour will change along with it. I’m sure they are already evaluating it. Phil going ‘nuclear’ only hastened the demise of the SGL and further isolated him. I hope the PGA Tour has options to sanction players who defect. I guess I’m an old codger; tradition and loyalty mean a lot to me.

Greg Norman's nickname "Shark" feels like it is trying to take on a new meaning. Sounds like he over-estimated his influence with a number of players. His "letter" to the tour sounded more like sour grapes and he clearly has a personal vendetta and stake in the success of this so-called venture.

Norman is toast and is his reputation! Guess you could say FIGJAM is in same boat!
