What's it like to play Mission Hills' iconic 18th with a Major championship on the line?
Well, we knew just who to ask - Past Champion and TItleist Brand Ambassador So Yeon Ryu !
Ryu, who won the event in 2017, posted a flawless, bogey-free round of 4 under par 68 before forcing a sudden-death playoff. But arguably the two most important moments of the tournament came on the 18th, where she not only birdied her 72nd hole to force a playoff, but rolled in a 6-foot birdie putt to ultimately win the event.
Since So Yeon is no stranger to making birdie on the 18th, we caught up with her this week to get her take on the risk-reward opportunities that the 18th at Mission Hills presents and the strategy she’ll look to use as she views for her second Major title.
