I seem to recall some using testers paint - the paint used for making models. Folks were able to color match quite well and control the amount applied easily. Quite inexpensive as well.

You need to take the driver back to the shop/store/titleist account where you purchased the driver with you receipt. They will get in touch with Titleist if it is still under warranty. In answer to you question, the only time this has happened to me is when I accidently stepped on the head with my shoes and the stringer spikes scratched the paint. Was not covered by warranty. Naturally.

From the look of the chips, it appears something may have hit the clubhead and it didn't happen spontaneously. You could try reaching out to Titleist if it's still under warranty. If you purchased the club from your local authorized Titleist retailer, they may help you as well.

If those white marks are what you are referring to I'd consider using the headcover whenever the club is in the bag.

Yeah, doesnt look like a random happening. Perhaps the driver scraped up against another club.

Sharpie is the ghetto fix. Otherwise some model car paint.

At one time, I had an alignment stick without the rubber end cap in my bag and discovered at times when I put my covered driver back in my bag after a shot that the alignment stick would go inside the hea cover and subsequently scratch the top of my driver head not too far from the hosel. As mine were only scratches and not chips, I used car paint scratch remover (probably combo of rubbing compound and wax) which worked well. Not necessarily an answer to your question but may be a possible source of why it happened.

I agree with Craig. I never saw a Driver with paint chips. Something in your bag is hitting under the headcover.

I had never seen something like this before. If I were you, I would take it to the Pro Shop or retailer where you purchased the driver.

That's not a defect... it made contact with something. Either alignment stick, another club, your foot, or virtually anything else.

Saw some similar chip on some 2nd hand clubs, I guess it might be the contact in the golf bag or hitting some hard object unaware.

I know this is an old thread but stumbled on it. This happened to my driver too. Chips close to the neck like that were from dropping the club into my bag without a head cover and it kept smacking the top of the cart right there. Always use a head cover now.
