a lot of people with use it for towel clasp or club brushes. I use it for bag tags, sharpie, and apple air tag.

It should be for the rain hood

Multipurpose for whatever you want to use it for but designed for bag tags with flat buckle straps.

If I had it on my bag, I would probably use it to hang my Range Finder. Could not find that it has any designated use. Imagine it would be up to you.

I hang my Team Titleist Bag Tag on that.

I think it could be for your bag cover. The cover need to be secure to the top. Is it on the other side too?

Bag tag. Club brush. Towel. Range finder case. The little Scotty dog trinket you have hanging from your zipper pull. Whatever else you want to use it for.

Also, the spot where you have your divot tool is for a Sharpie. Eventually the prongs on that will get so sharp they’ll slice right through that fabric.

There should be a rain hood in one o your pockets. I believe it was a velcro strap that is used to connect it to your bag using those plastic loops.

That's the way the old bag hood installed but the new ones use more elastic and wrap around the bag straps. This is just a utility strap on the upper right side and is larger than those older hood connectors. Rangefinder holder, bag tag, or anything else you want to attach like an Apple AirTag to track your bag.

I would hook a D-ring into it and hang whatever you like into the D-ring.

Use it for what ever you would like lol. But I think its there for your rain hood.

Thanks for the responses. The rain hood made some sense, so I trial fitted mine on and it isn't used for that. I mean it can be used for anything to hang off of it, but with that type of buckle, I figured it but have a specific use.

Correct, like I said, the old rain hoods had similar but smaller loops but the new ones, as you know, use elastic and then velcro around the legs and shoulder straps. This connector is mostly used for rangefinders that have a case or bag tags so as not to interfere with using the towel ring for towels. Maybe we start a thread to see all the different ways users have adapted this corrector. I have used mine for my Apple AirTag.

If you have one on the other side too, it could be like my older bag whee you can put the strap on a different way depending on the strap you use. Mine came with a single and a shoulder harness.

Happy to see I am not the only one lost on it. After trying to figure out if it was supposed to be used with the rain cover I gave up and use it to hook my towel and range finder on as it is a more convenient spot than the metal loop when I have the bag in my push card. Glad to see others say they use it the same way.

I see it used mostly for country club bag tags with flat straps. The larger towel rings are for other bag tags.
