Yesterday I came across this guy on YouTube who is building a par 3 hole in his massive back yard (so cool) and it got me thinking, what do you use to practice at home? From putting mat to golf simulator, I'd love to hear it.

I've got a Perfect Practice golf mat and a chipping net with foam balls. Slowly getting my fiancé to get used to the idea of having a simulator room one day!

I have a Flightscope Mveo+ that I use in my garage with a mat and a net. It’s a great way for me to practice at home while the baby is napping since I’m the full time parent at home. I also use the RCT balls from Titleist and they work perfectly with the Mevo+!

Now that I have moved into a retirement community, I have access to four practice areas at each course. I mainly use the one two streets over. Drive my personal golf cart over and hit range balls, chip, bunker practice, and putting green. Only excuse now for not improving is a lack of talent. :)

I'm sure you'll be challenging for the club championship in no time; it might come with preferred parking

Ha ha! Not likely. After 43 years in the competitive business environment I am not sure I will play too much competitive golf. I want to improve my play mainly for some personal satisfaction as I tend to be pretty critical on myself when hitting those real bad shots.

Unlike Tom Watson that doesn’t have all the tools in the toolbox anymore.

Yup, I know, I’m getting close to just a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. Still a joy to play.

Hey Dale, I see that you are in Surprise now, cool! My dad lives there, I grew up in Phoenix and my Dad and I have played so many courses in Surprise. Right now our go to course is AZ Traditions. It's a bit of a goat patch at times, but good practice facilities. Fun little course that I've had some good scores on. Where do you play?

We are located in The Grand. It has four courses; Granite Falls South, Granite Falls North, Desert Springs, and Cimarron. I am just a few blocks from the Cimarron clubhouse so that is where I usually go to practice and play it a bit more often than the other three courses. We looked at a house in Traditions and I like that it is a gated community but this house and the multiple courses won me over.
  10. I don't practice anything at home and in all honesty playing virtually every week day I don't see what the benefit would be and it doesn't seem to affect my game
  11. I use a putting mirror to help me with my putting and I set up a chipping net in my back yard. If I want to do anything else I just have to go to the driving range.

In my home office I have an 8' practice putting strip with a couple Scotty Cameron putting cups on either end. It's flat and straight so I work on hitting the ball on a straight line during the winter. A couple years ago we added a homemade 12'x 9' putting area in the back yard. That has four cut holes and allows us to practice putts with break(natural undulation) and some chipping/pitching practice.

Jealous of everyone with home practice facilities!
Nowadays, I only have a putting mat and a practice mat for my swing used during winter only.
I’ll have the putting green away soon.
Back in my previous home, I had plenty of room for a large net and made a hitting bay.
  14. I have a yard large enough to hit it about 35 yards. Allows me to work on the short game distances.
  15. I have a putting matt at work, and only live 2 min walk from my range and course which has fantastic facility's.. so im very lucky and 99% of the time in the evening i have the whole place to myself
  16. Here are a few options:

Putting Mat: A putting mat is a flat, carpet-like surface that simulates the green on a golf course. It usually comes with a ball return feature and can be used to practice putting.

Chipping Net: A chipping net is a small, portable net that can be used to practice chipping. It's usually made of mesh material and can be set up in the backyard or indoors.

Golf Simulator: A golf simulator is a more advanced piece of equipment that allows you to practice your swing indoors. It includes a projector, screen, and sensors that track your swing and ball flight. This option is more expensive, but it provides a more realistic golf experience.

Swing Trainer: A swing trainer is a device that helps you improve your swing mechanics. It can be used indoors or outdoors and comes in various shapes and sizes.

Golf Hitting Net: A golf hitting net is a large net that can be set up in the backyard or indoors. It allows you to practice your full swing without worrying about damaging anything.

I have a 4 hole, 500 sqft putting green in the yard, and I'm building a new hitting booth (to use with my Rapsodo MLM). I also just joined a club that's only 2.5 miles from the house, so I'm hoping to take my game to the next level.

My wife is going to kill you guys lol. After reading this I might have plans for the backyard lol.
  19. I also made this one, I was inspired by it on youtube.
  20. Unfortunately for me this is an old set for golf, I'm an amateur but I'd prefer to renovate my balls and make a new place to play in golf, because the ball hole is handmade and it's pretty bad :(

Rukket Haack golf net and mats; 10 foot artificial putting green; and SC300i launch monitor. I bought a mesh drawstring bag of recycled golf balls from Walmart and they get hit again and again without scuffing the good balls in my golf bag.
  23. I was lucky to build an indoor putting green in the lower level of my house that is about 25’x25’

I would love to build an indoor range (mats and screen) someday like many of you!

    Cheers, Chris
