As I read the posts on this site I notice the profiles of our members, where they are from and especially those that are military. The PGAHope program introduces the game of golf through a developmental 6-8 week curriculum, led by PGA Professionals trained in adaptive golf and military cultural competency. All programs are funded by PGA REACH and supplemented by PGA Section Foundations, so the cost of programming is FREE to all Veterans.. The PGAHope is a program that is designed for those of us who are veterans and those who are on active duty. There are some awesome benefits that are attached to the program......i.e....just got a notice this week that I can get 2 free grounds passes to the PGA Championships this year in NY, Just need my PGAHope card and my Veterans VAID card. Get to meet a lot of great people, just like here on TT, and some courses even offer special discount with your PGAHope Card. Check out this site and see when the clinics are offered in you area and attend.

I will be finishing up my curriculum on April 25th. I have enjoyed the refresher lessons I have been getting every Tuesday and have learned a few things I did not know, and last but not least, have met some cool veterans. Check it out, know it is worth two hours of your time once a week for the 6-8 weeks.

We hope it is. For some of the Veterans it is their first time to play golf. Most are disabled veterans, ranging in ages from recently discharged veterans in their twenties to Korean war veterans. Various forms of disabilities up to loss of limbs, mental issues, and those with spinal injuries. It is a great program for veterans who want to meet other veterans, improve on their game and have a little fun. For some it helps them overcome struggles whether mental or physical. They all one thing in common, they served with honor and lived to tell about it.

The Carolina PGAHope Chapter is one of the larger Chapters. In the Charleston area, they do the clinics at least twice a years a various golf courses in the area with success. You can go thru the program more than once, which some do then go on to volunteer and work with the program. Veterans helping veterans.
