I’m sure some of you have some mighty impressive practice setups at work, based off of the back yard setup’s I have seen. Today at the fire station I made a makeshift chipping mat and putting strip to get some “around the green” practice in during downtime.

What do you use/setup for practice away from home?

I have a Perfect Practice putting mat. I'm fortunate that my home course is very close to my home, so I'm not far from a grass driving range and nice short game practice area.

I have heard great things from the Practice Perfect brand. Do you have the putting strip or a larger setup?

Love the game too much right now to quit. Trying to develop small game and knock down strokes!

For some strange reason, they did not like it when I was at work but not working. Go figure? I guess that's why I went ahead and retired.

Someday, one day! When Chief pulls in the clubs disappear in record time! Fortunately, they are very laid back with us with expectations very clear. Do your job, get your stuff done, the rest I don’t need to hear about kind of style.

Obviously different backgrounds. As a defense contractor, I was paid with your tax dollars. I took that very seriously and every hour worked was logged and no hours were wasted. Very proud of 43 years doing that. There is no way we would have anything in the office that an auditor would have a concern about. I would have loved to devote more time to golf during those years but I had to stick with nights, weekends, and holidays. Frankly, not sure more would have helped me anyway. Best of luck with your game.
  10. Nice! I just have a puttout matt in the office that i use eveyday.. all my staff like to join in as well!

That’s leading from the front! Set expectations accomplish your work and earn some bonding/relax time. That’s when the chemistry builds and the creative thinking begins!
I just used an extra softening floor mat from our gym area as my chipping pad
  12. Very nice!

If I can cut one stroke, that’s worth it for me! Kills the time too since we are on duty for 48 hours straight. Immediate feedback from trying different stuff, seeing how my club and different shots react, it all has helped me build confidence approaching my shots!

I have one at home, because my employer actually has the nerve to require that I work when I'm at work.

The nerve of them (is the boss also the wife? Haha!). We are on shift for 48 hours straight so we get flexibility at times in our days. Plenty of hard work and extreme sacrifices made with the perk of sometimes getting paid to relax, it’s the best job ever!… unless being a professional golfer was an option lol
  17. Yeah I can’t golf at work

Many jobs allow it, just gotta find the one for you! I wish I was able to truly golf at work, that would be incredible, but I’m happy with the chipping/putting time when I get the chance.
I’ve been trying to focus on my small game and build confidence around the green, then work my way back down the fairway to the tee
  19. TDial, thank you for your service. If your work is done and you are ready to go, no reason you can't relax before running into a fire. Nice set up by the way, necessity is the mother of invention. Good luck shaving those strokes, short game, short game, short game.
