    I took my Vokey 58* to the grinder and put a razor sharp edge on it. WOW does it go through the soil like a hot knife thru butter.

    Never gave it a thought. =) How does it affect it's overall performance? Bounce, etc.? I have a 58.12D that I got a Vokey Experience (Mr. Vokey fitted me) and carry it as a Sand Wedge on occasions.

    I will do it forever I love how it cuts , however if you happen to hit one thin the golf ball is trash.

    I know changing the bounce and customizing the grind is not uncommon with wedges. I don't know any golfers who have modified the edge either to dull it or make it sharper.

    If it works for you then it's all good. I guess the main thing to be mindful of is that the modifications you are making to your club still fall within the Rules of Golf.

    Obviously, you took the bounce off the club. Do use that club in the bunker? If so, you should see how the ball reacts in the sand.

    Very interesting. Often when the wedge wizards remove bounce from a wedge, they will actually dull the leading edge to prevent it from digging. I think a sharp leading edge would dramatically reduce your margin for error off of tight lies. Let us know how it's working for you!
