This was very interesting. Some of his points reinforce what my pro has been teaching me for the past few years, but that I still have a difficult time executing. Gives me more push to work on them to improve these areas.

Best and most clear lesson I have ever received.

I especially liked Michael’s exclamation at the very end, about chipping out of the rough. My course is going through a refurbishing for better drainage. The new course I’m playing, the rough is totally different. It really fooled me to begin with. It’s not necessarily super long but it’s extremely thick. Chipping onto the green is an adventure. Especially short chips where you only need the ball to go 20-30 feet. I can’t tell you how many times the club would just stick into the ground with no follow through. Many times the club would stick and the ball would maybe get only half way there. My old course I was excellent with my chipping from the rough, even if the rough was on the high side. I could always get my club through it. I’m working on more wrist hinge but sometimes it just shoots out way to far. Wrist hinge definitely adds a new element to consider. Finding an area close to your ball with more or less the same thickness of rough helps. However it’s still a work in progress for me as is my pathetic short putt misses!
