Like a set of irons, the less loft, the harder the metal-woods are to hit.

Often many of us mere mortals may hit a 4 or 5 wood further than a 3 wood by getting the ball higher in the air. I’ve never had a problem hitting higher lofted hybrids from Titleist. Without any knowledge of your swing, if you need to fill a distance gap between the 21 hybrid and driver, you should work with a fitter to see if the 18 hybrid, 5W, or 4W will meet your need. The TSR-2 3W even with a higher launching shaft probability won’t be the best solution. It might work out for you to also look at the TSR-1 3W. They aren’t for everyone, but they do launch higher than the -2 line.

I have a TSR2 5 wood at 18 degrees and a 22 degree TSR2 hybrid that are easy to hit. For the 3 wood though I still have a TSi3 and that works great for me.

I just recently changed to the new TSR1s. I picked up two hybrids set at 23* and 20*. I chose the 23* to replace my 5 iron in my new T350s and love the new hybrids. Very accurate and love the height. When discussing the next step, and that was whether to go with the 18* with the fairway or the hybrid we decided on the TSR1 18* and we set it at 17.25*, mainly because I had used my previous 17* hybrid from the fairway and it was not as accurate as I would like. Also another reason we went with the TSRI is because they are back loaded (the weights are on the bottom instead of the front) therefore creating more height make them easier to hit. They set me up with Fujikura speeder shafts, which I am a big fan of. They make a great set of metals/woods. My fitter knows what is best. I am a senior golfer and any additional assistance I can get, I listen to my fitter. I really like hitting the ball from the middle of the fairway. My other metals in the bag are TSID3 and TSIF2 15*. I could never get the feel, distance and degree of accuracy I wanted from the TSD or TSRD 10.0* s or F15*s. Again a fitter makes all the difference, all with a good PGA teaching pro. When things don't go north. It is normally the indian, not the arrow. Cheers.
