    Hi Team Titleist,

It's quick poll time and today we want to hear from you about one of our favorite topics - club fitting. And specifically, we want to know if you always get fit before you add a new club to your setup. Let us know in the quick poll below and add a reply to share more about how you voted.

  2. It really depends on what club I’m looking for and what I’m looking to accomplish with it.

I always do. Before I spend the money, I want to make sure it's something that fit and performs the way I need it too. The only time I may not is if I'm adding a new wedge to the mix.

Once you get fitted it's hard not to get fitted going forward.
  6. I get fit unless it is a replacement club like a wedge then I just order what I was fitted for previously.
  7. Yes but what if your set up or anything else in your swing has chnged? I would allways get a second opinion and it does not cost you anything but time with a new fitting

I voted "Sometimes" because it's only been recently that I've started getting fitted for some clubs in my bag (irons/Driver, wedges). I have not been fitted for fairways or hybrids, but I will go hit the newest model of those clubs before upgrading, keeping in mind what has worked for me in the past...

    All depends on the situation.
If i have been fit for a set of wedges previously and want to add in a new grind.
I’ll just match the shaft and specs etc.

Most guys have been playing for so long that if you see your numbers and know your target % is, it’s an easy update.

Drivers and irons, yes but with wedges, I tend to know the grinds that I like so stick with them.

I really dont think its as easy to get fit as some think it is. Being left handed, say you want a hybrid but they dont have that club in or something like that. It makes it difficult at times.

As a lefty, I agree wholeheartedly. My most recent purchases are ones where I've done a fitting - partly because I'm a lefty and I want to have a better selection available than what's off the rack at the local place, but also because my swing is not what it used to be and the swing stats will help determine what the best option is for me.

The only reason I voted no was because I go off of what worked in the past.
  18. Not every time
I will try different set-ups that they might suggest
And pray it helps -( I am a high handicapper )
So a few yards may or may not help
As I get older I have learned to just play the game and take what I get and try
To make a better shot the next Time -

It depends on what I am replacing. I know my lie and length from previous fittings.
  20. Most fittings are in the $100-125 range and will usually apply some or all of that towards the club if you buy it from whoever is fitting, so why wouldn’t you always get fit anymore? To me… there’s really no reason not to anymore. Just my ¢2!

As my skills and understanding in the game of golf have improved, I have moved to getting fit anytime I put a new club in the bag. I used to add clubs to the bag based on looks or reviewed performance when I first started out. I had an awesome fitting experience a few years ago where the fitter really took the time to go through numbers and explained Trackman data. This helped me understand and see the importance in a proper fitting. As my golf skills have now improved, I can see the difference a change in loft or face position does for me.
  22. Most of the time. As a retirement gift to myself I upgraded my whole set. Way overdue as the irons were 26+ years old. Got fitted for the irons first. HUGE difference. Then wedges, putter and hybrids. Driver and fairway woods next. Having said all that, I did hit an off the rack 3 wood and bought it. I did have it shortened by 1" just like my irons. I am convinced that the fitting was the best golf investment I could make (not counting lessons). The caveat, I keep my clubs a LOOONNNGGGG time. So its worth the investment. But, if you're buying clubs every other season dont know it a fitting is the best value proposition. FWIW I'm sold on fitting and recommend it to my golf buddies. Just make sure you find a good fitter, not a salesman.

I always get fitted, even if it is one club. My body and swing changes, so a new fitting might find a change in what I need in a club to help lower my scores. At a ball fitting years ago, It was determined that a Pro-V1 was not the best ball for me. Now, the AVX is the best ball for me! It does help me score better, and that is what we all want!!!!
