Any news on when SC Club 2024 will be open? will there be better management on allowing everyone a fair shot to join? I have missed it the last 2 years because of bots

A good question and one that starts coming up on the TT site about this time of the year, every year. My question is; is there a way to control who gets in and who does not get in? Sure it will be first come, first in as always. Bout as fair as it can be. Something that is not really controllable. Does SC create a lottery? How does he know who is a collector? How does he know who is a reseller? When someone buys an item, it is theirs to do with as they please, because it is now theirs. As loyalists, we may not like it, I do not, but it is what it is and I personally do not see a solution that is fair. This problem got out of control many years ago and they have been trying to control it, but the same issues remain. I got out of that game years ago, was way too frustrating and life too short to worry. At our recent TTI in Scottsdale, I was discussing this with a longtime SC collector and he too, stopped joining the club, because of the frustration. It all boils down to your patience level. Watch for the announcement and be quick, VERY QUICK and hopefully you will get REWARDED. Hakuna matata. =)

I believe last year it was initially offered on 1/3, and a few days later they opened it up again to more memberships. I missed it both times, but this year I am hoping to be successful.
  4. If you're already a member , you should get a notice. And then be quick.

I’ll set a reminder and try to re-join in 2024. Typically the member gift is quite nice and I use some of the items (some of them just collect dust). I like the opportunity to get some of the shirts and pivot tools that are released throughout the year. The headcovers are hit and miss for me as I won’t “game” any of them and I’m running out of shelf space to display them.

I gave up on the SC club a couple of years ago. I am a fan - don't get me wrong, but I was never able to buy any of the headcovers or other items despite the 'advance notice' - just too many bots around I think. Still, the welcome gift is usually worth the price of admission if you can get in.

I have been a member the last couple of years. Bhershman is correct, it was 1/3 this year. I believe it is always the first week of January. My advice is to have your email alerts on and be ready to log in as soon as you get the notification that registration is open.

It used to always be the first business day after the NY holiday. But actually it was *not* on 1/3 this year.

An email was sent on 1/3 announcing "To preserve the foundational ideals and intended purpose of Club Cameron, we’re rolling out some new ideas to encourage an inclusive community and fairer access to membership and members-only products."

They said they would be releasing the memberships "later in January" and that although the number of memberships wold not be increasing, there would be "multiple opportunities to purchase memberships". They also extended the 2022 memberships into January so that they had access to the Hawaii release which was on January 9th. The 2023 memberships opened for purchase on January 11th, and I was able to renew then. They then had a second opening later in January, and that was it.

From there, not much else changed about how they ran the releases to give people a better chance at purchasing items. The one thing that changed substantially last year (which was not related to Club Cameron), was that the Wednesday studio putter releases were done by lottery rather than first come, first served. Which was a great idea for those kinds of items.

So stayed tuned on January 2nd, since they will probably say something about how it will all go down this year and if anything will change.
