  1. I'm wanting to get a hitting net and mat for my backyard. I want to avoid the products that don't wear well.

Please post pics of your setup and what products they are.

Unfortunately I don't have anywhere in the house with high enough ceilings to swing, so even if it's a bit chilly I can get in the backyard and get some cuts in.

    Thanks!

My setup is in the garage but I’m sure it would do well outside. I have a Net Return Pro and it might be the best net you can buy at a fair price. The mat I use is the monster mat from SafePlay Golf. I like it because you get great feedback from mishit shots like real turf. Plus the green fibers that get on your clubs easily wipes right off. One other thing I’ll add is I use the Mevo+ in conjunction with the Titleist RCT balls. I get really accurate numbers vs using a ball with a foil dot which doesn’t always get picked up as accurately.

Looking forward to the replies here, going to completely redo my backyard soon and want to put in a nice hitting area. I put in a putting green about 18 months ago and it’ll be like a nice golf academy.

You might try and post this on the TT Facebook page to get more pictures of people's set ups. Replies on the forum have not included the ability to post pictures for quite a while now, only social media links. Good luck with your outdoor project.

The way this forum is set up, the interface does not allow pictures to be attached to replies. If you want replies to include pics, you should move your query to the private TT FB page.

I use archery netting for the back of my hitting setup. This netting holds up well and i have not had any balls get through it yet.

I have a net and mat set up in my garage with a Garmin R10. Helps to pass the time through the exceptionally long winter off season!

I will second the net return pro. I picked it up last summer along with a commercial octogan matt. I opted for the "no fly zone" addition as well, though I've been fortunate not to need it. I had an area in the yard that was about 15x15 feet, and put some basic astroturf down as a base for the net and mat. It's a start, eventually I'll add to it to give me the space to set up a launch monitor. There are some good groups on FB for backyard golf/nets/putting greens to give some ideas that work for you.

Here in So Cal I set up my net and SC4 launch monitor in the back yard. The net is just a simple one I purchased off Amazon and it works well. Only issue was the "thwack" every 30 seconds or so that puzzled my next door neighbor until I let him know what I was doing.

I have a fiberbuilt flight deck in the garage for the last 4 years. It’s going strong and I’m really impressed. Depending how rigorous you use it the tee has given out on me. It is replaceable and I’m on my 3rd so averaging one a year. I’ve also just used regular tees in between shipping. The only drawback is they fly everywhere so it’s a short lived delay in ordering a replacement.

Posting photos on TT is a struggle.
I have a standard driving range mat that I dug into my yard so it’s flush. It looks good.
For full swings I use the Rukket Sports Net. It’s easy to set up and tear down (I’m married and surprisingly my wife doesn’t think the net’s aesthetics add to our yard).
I got the extra target net for the middle and so far so good. I’ve had it for 4 seasons. I hit about 50-100 balls 3 days a week in the season. I have yet to put one through it.
