So let's flip it ( due to the heat this year )and ask what is too hot to play for you? For me that hasn't happened yet. Living here in Floriduh it gets hot but we always have a breeze to make it tolerable .What say you ? Oh , it's never gotten past 99* in the Tampa area.

  2. In ohio it can get pretty humid and hot during the summer...once the temps get past 85 or so...tough to play walking the course.

In Arizona it also get hot but not as humid...I enjoy playing no matter what the temp...even around 125!

    Cheers
  3. I head to PHX 4-5X per year and LOVE playing in the Summer. Heat doesn’t bother me as I hate Winter. The cheap green fees make it worth it.

I don't know what the temp was, but I played a round in Cabo that felt like we were playing on the Sun. My wife rode along in the cart and was miserable. I walk 95% of the time here in GA and it is usually in the 90s when we are finishing. Kind of cliche, but the heat isn't the problem for me; it is the humidity. I am a sweater and the humidity just makes it that much worse. Just think Lucas Glover last year. LOL

The last few days in central Floriduh have been too hot for me. The ‘feels like’ was 104 with 76% humidity yesterday. I went to a sim and play a round on that.

It's never too cold to play. Here in the Vancouver, we can play golf all year round provided there is no snow on the course.

I live in the Palm Beach area, and this time of year, with the humidity, the "feels like" temps regularly reach 100-105+. That's tough, I take all the necessary precautions, but by the end of an 18 hole round, I'm wiped.

I have yet to play in temps that are too hot but a couple weeks ago when it was 95 with about 75% humidity and no wind, it was pretty close to being my limit. That's pretty warm for central Ohio.
  9. Hey Dave, after working at a course here at the Jersey Shore for 27yrs, it was never too cold, or too hot to work. Therefore, it has never been too hot or too cold to play! It's either layer up, or take it off. Hope that answers your question.

It was 109 Saturday when I played. I went out yesterday to the range and hit a large bucket, chipped and putted and it was 112. It might warm up a bit by August.

Never too hot. Bring plenty of water and Gatorade and have a couple gloves available. A good sweat towel too. No need to rush because there's probably not a lot of people out playing if it's that hot. Here in NC "it's not the heat, it's the humidity" lol.

I live in a region of the country where we regularly experience temps peaking over 100°F during the summer months. Though my goal is to start my round before 8AM during those hot days, playing in +100°F is very doable as long as I have access to a lot of cold water. For the record, I have a tee time tomorrow morning with a temperature forecast of 74°F to start my round and temps forecasted to top 108°F for the day. Also, in a couple of weeks I'm heading to Las Vegas and will play at least one round, so it's all good. Stay hydrated!!!

With humidity, I will take a cart when 86+. Just guarding against heat stroke and dehydration. Will take local recommendation when it is that darn dry heat.

I’m in Texas and have played in 114… carry lots of wet towels… and keep the bag covered… those irons get hot in the sun lol

Old enough to remember as a kid when we would have a heat wave with temps at 100 to get out and enjoy the day. That included golf. No limit to what you can play if you're acclimated.

I just hosted an outing here in Ohio that was 95 degrees with 90 percent humidity. I’ll take the 100+ degrees in Phoenix any day!

I golfed Erin Hills last June (2023) on a 90+ degree day. Water coolers on every tee, a breathable bucket hat for shade (not many trees at EH), a sweat towel, and a couple extra gloves. Preparation is key for hot, and cold, days on the course. Always a great day at Erin especially with birdies on 1, 9, 10, and a par on 18 that felt like a birdie.

I have spent many years playing golf in Palm Springs during the summer. It can get really hot but as long as you have water and electrolytes and lots of sunscreen you are good. Highest I have ever played in was 122.

Having moved to southeast Texas in January this is my first summer here. So far, I'm fine with it. Stay hydrated and protected. The humidity does increase sweating so I can go through gloves a little quicker. The key though is to keep sweating as once you stop, that is not a good sign.

I usually draw the line at a heat index above 110.

Plenty of water, sun screen and as much shade as I can get through out the round.
