Disappointing Team Titleist gear...

    Good afternoon,

    Imagine my surprise when I go on Ebay and see all of the swag that was given away on sale. It's very disappointing in the fact that people like me would LOVE to go to this event, and would treasure the items given.

    I'm well aware that it is a free country, but it is still disappointing that a "Team Titleist" member is selling all the stuff they just got for free. I understand that the majority of us would not do that, but it sucks for those of us who really want the stuff and would really appreciate it. My question is - why go? Part of the fun (I'm guessing), is seeing what Titleist will surprise you with, as well as playing with like-minded Titleist lovers.

    And no matter how cool it is, I'm not buying it second hand. I want to earn it - and I think 99% of all of you feel that way. If only there was a way to sanction the seller. I feel it is the antithesis of Team Titleist.

    Just a random Wednesday night thought that got me thinking..

    I believe your thoughts are shared by many who attend these unique in person Titleist events. Whether it's the annual TTI or a local "day only" TT event, I've attended both and they're all special. As you've mentioned, it's a "free country" and no one can stop people doing what they choose to do.

    I agree with you 100%, items should never be sold. If you want to share with others that is one thing, but to sell it (normally at a really high price) is TT Treason in my mind. Great post Scotty!

    I couldn't agree with you more. Those of us who have been on this site for a number of years have seen this before. I just don't know how it can be stopped. It's unfortunate.

    Hey Scotty, welcome to the world of the TT events. Some can hardly wait to get their swag and put it on line. I'm sure Titleist has a way of identifying those who choose to appreciate what TT means to most of us real loyalists. Hopefully they will take that into consideration when the next event comes up. It happens, and yes we do not think kindly of those who choose the "love of money" (As the O'Jays would say) over friendship and loyalty. If I find something I cannot use, I pass it on to another TT member or a friend. Nothing in life is free, the price of the swag is built into your registrations as they are in any golf event you participate in. I just go back from Europe and had to pay to use the restroom, E1. Whoever thought we would have to pay for air for our tires. As the world turns. Hakuna matata. =)

    I’m not really sure how you “earn” it. It’s all paid for in entry fees, etc. Companies aren’t in the habit of giving out free things.

    I must respectfully disagree. I've gotten many free things in the mail from them over the years. I feel I've earned them by being a frequent contributing member and trying to help others on the site.

    I understand the TT events are a bit different, but Titleist does do a good job of giving items away. Ask any member what it is like when you get an unexpected package from Titleist...

    They “do a good job of giving items away” so much so that I haven’t gotten anything while seemingly others like yourself get “many free things in the mail.” I’ve spent thousands of dollars on Titleist items over the years and the only thing I’ve gotten is a depleted bank account and a “good time” on the course.

    Respectfully disagree all you want, OP is spot on.

    Sorry, but it's not like it is high dollar memorabilia. And once again, nothing is free in this world. I've been buying from a Titleist van for 20 years, never got a key chain. Perfectly okay with that! Never got anything from Team Titleist, okay with that too!

    you echo my thoughts exactly. I've been experiencing the same displeasure with being a Cameron Club member. We get early releases of their swag and it generally sells out within minutes (or less). Then you go and see these items on eBay at significant markups. And they haven't even received the products yet.

    I thought they were going to try to curb this activity, but it's obviously much more difficult than we can imagine.

    Hopefully, TT will see how's selling the items and block them from future events to all the true enthusiasts the opportunity to attend and get items that we'd love to show off to friends.

    Happens all the time and won't stop.. Only way to stop it is to personalize items.
