It’s been 2 years since I golfed. I played competitive amateur golf in my mid 20s-early 30s. My now wife and I purchased a house, settled down to start a family and I maybe played a few rounds a year. At that point I kinda gave up on golf. I was a 5 handicap and basically stalled there. Wife talked me out of selling my gear and told me to put them away. Fast forward to present day… a buddy called me and asked if I wanted to play in a 2 man better ball. I laughed! I still followed golf all those years but didn’t really care to play. I figured.. what the hell! Pulled the clubs out of the closet, went to the range and played out practice round ( 93). Felt good getting out again… Tournament weekend… he’s a 12 handicap so we made a goal to shot in the 70s (tournament had 5 flights after day 1). We shot 79,78 I carded 3 birders that won us 60 dollars in skins AND we placed 3rd in our flight which paid out!
