Is there an update when the GT 280 will be avaialble for pre-order. Are there any spec's available about construction, will it be the same at the GT line of drivers?

Titleist brought two pre-production releases of the GT280 to "The Dale" last week for us to hit. they were both 13 degree models and the shafts are interchangeable with fairway shafts, not driver shafts. I expect the availability for order to be pretty soon.

  6. When can I get one?
  7. The 2+ is a great club so I am hoping the 280 is even better.
  8. I don’t think the GT280 will ever make it to the retail market. Its like a white unicorn it will never be seen

Don't let the hype get to you, when it happens, it happens. The best thing is the "new car smell/feel", the reality is after a few shots, it's all relative. If you've hit the 13.5, you know what you're getting.

Pre orders and embargo is tomorrow.
  11. I think it will make it to retail since other manufacturers offer them with success....IMHO
  12. It never hurts to ask but will this be available in other lofts.

    Ie. 11 or 11.5

I have a copper burner in 11.5 and would love to have a titleist one. Just a classic look

  13. May I ask some honest questions here? With the launch of the mini driver and the hefty price tag, how do people afford purchasing this club. The pros, who could afford it, get them for free. I am just curious on how people afford it or justify it. I am a teacher. My family does not live beyond our means. We prioritize living debt free and staying debt free. With only a mortgage left, I just have a hard time justifying the cost of these new clubs. I know any of the mini drivers would be a drastic upgrade since my 3 wood is from 2002. Since a foot surgery, I can't put enough weight on my foot to hit my driver straight any longer. I can only hit my 3 wood off the tee if I want to enjoy my round. Hence my interest in the mini drivers. I can save up the money for the club. But I just can't justify the cost where kids sports, braces, college, x, y, and z are out there to pay for. Any suggestions? Once our house is paid off, I do plan to save to get fitted for a full set of Titleist clubs. But until then, I am just curious on how people afford to purchase these clubs, especially those of you planning on getting the mini driver. Is there a way to purchase the demo versions from fitters? Thanks everyone and have a great day. Keep hitting them straight down the fairways and firing at greens!

I understand completely David. There was a point in my life where two kids, one with significant medical issues, single income for the family, that my hobbies took a financial hit. I too used older clubs and always purchased second-hand but continued to play Titleist gear. Fortunately those days are over and smart savings and good luck now allows me to afford to upgrade my gear whenever I want. Some people who have some disposable income in their budgets choose to spend theirs on travel, season tickets to sports games, casino gambling, fancy cars, etc. I choose to budget mine towards golf related items and trips. Don’t feel bad about your priorities and be sure and set aside some savings for that future where you can pop on those new, shiny golf goodies when they first come out. Godspeed.
