Hola TT!
Has anyone here played TPC River Highlands in CT? I'm heading there in 2 weeks and I'm looking for some tips and tricks.
Fairways and Greens!

Josh,
I live near TPC River Highlands and have played it a handful of times. Fun course and make sure you get there a little earlier to use the range. IMO it's one of the best ranges around.
The front nine is pretty straight forward. The back nine is what makes this course a ton of fun.
Hole 10 needs a straight accurate drive. If you get it in the fairway you will be fine.
Hole 11 a short elevated Par 3 tee box that visually messes with me. I have tried all different ways to play with no success. Depending on the wind you might be thinking of a 1 to 3 club difference.
Hole 12 to 14 is the crescendo leading up to the signature holes.
Here is where it gets fun...the next 3 holes surrounding a pond and it has an ampere theater effect. Every putt is affected by the pond, so make sure you take it into account.
Hole 15 Drivable Par 4....You have to go for it!! The excitement just looking at this hole is worth it.
Hole 16 is a par 3 over water, Long right is the bail shot, but center of the green is the target regardless of pin placement.
Hole 17 is a risk reward hole.... (Make sure at the range you practice some fairway wood / hybrid swings) you will need it here for the hero shot.
Hole 18 is a straight shot and a nice way to end the round.
Hope you have a blast!! Also, if you have extra time in CT play Wintonbury Hill CC. It's a hidden gem under $100 a round designed by Donald Ross. Fantastic course.
NICE! Thanks for the review Ben. I won't have time this time, but I'm in CT a lot for work. I'll check out Wintobury next time I'm there. I love Donald Ross courses. I'll be sure to report back when I'm done at the River

Josh, the former head pro of TPC Highlands is now my head pro at TPC Riversbend, do you want me to ask him any specific questions about the course?? By the way, I want to play all the fun courses you have been playing this year! Seems like you are having a ton of fun!
Cheers!
Hi TT,
Just got back from an awesome trip to Connecticut. The range at TPC RH is unreal.
After warming up on that range DeGoooooogs and I were pumped to play!
The front 9 was fairly begin. It starts out as a beautiful parkland course that's fairly straightforward. Then it gets interesting...
You don't want to be in the fescue around these parts.
The course isn't long, but it's tight. Accuracy off the tee is paramount.
The 15th is a fun hole. We both pulled driver- I missed short and left (just stayed out of the water) and Goooooogs went long and left and barely stayed on the fringe. The green on 15 is crazy. We both happily walked away with pars.
Overall it was a great day on a fantastic track. The last 5 holes really leave an impression. I'll never watch the Traveler's the same way again.
