Not right now, but I'd sure love become a Hawaiian resident...  Any advice?

I think if you want to move here , the trick would be to buy asap. Prices here seem to just go up unless there is a recession.

Moving here would be like a dream.  Your golf game might go to the pits though.  

If you plan to live here, one must consider the cost of living, its very high for a local resident.  I know people who work 2-3 jobs just to make ends meet.  If you can land a job that takes you to the higher 1/3 of a 5 figure income the more power to you.  Thus living here will be manageable.  Gas is @3.34 a gallon yesterday.

Best advice. Work hard, save your money and come on a vacation for 2-3 weeks every other year or so and play to your hearts content, or save up your nest egg and purchase a place for long term or one which you be to spend at least a few weeks at a time. 

Then again, you could be very successful right now, so it wouldn't make a difference.

Small bucket of balls (@30) 3.00.  Rates for golf varies right now, but you can find deals out on any Island. Especially at the resorts.  Google the Island at which you're going to stay at, look for courses in the area, and hit the exact courses web page for insights and pricing.  Decide, then make your tee time.

The wife and I save up and have been to Maui each year, and we're planning to do it again.  We both love it there, we'd still love to make the move!  We'll be there again this February, so if you or Aricb are around, I'd love to get out with some TT members in HI!

Where are you on the Island of Hawaii? My wife and I usually visit the Island of Hawai at least every other year or more and we stay on the Kohala Coast. I have friends that live in Hawi and an uncle that lives in Hilo.

Hey Justin, we stay at Mauna Lani Point condo's usually overlooking the signature 15th hole on the South course. Most of the time I golf with my local friend and I also get Kama'aina rates because I look like a local. We play those courses plus Wameia Country Club (now closed), Waikola Village  Golf Club and Hualalai Golf Club. I'll let you know the next time we're on the Island
