San Diego Public Practice Range & Short Game

    In your opinion… where is the best practice range and short game area (public) for me to visit Nov 8th in San Diego. My flight gets in at 10am and I have afternoon open before my next day TPI visit for TSR fitting.

    We have two "driving ranges" in North County, Carlsbad and Hodges in Escondido. They are good for hitting full shots but not ideal for chipping/putting/bunker practice. Any of the regular public courses should be good for short game work. Another idea is to head up to Goat Hill Park, especially if you are staying up by the TPI. You can get in a quick afternoon round or play just 9. John Ashworth has turned this historic little track into a must-play venue.

    GOAT HILL PARK RANGE IS CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS THRU OCTOBER 4TH!!!!!
    RUMOR HAS IT THAT THE NEW TURF AT THE GOAT IS FROM TPI.
