  1. I have been playing with my same set of irons & wedges for many years now and way overdue for a change...My current set of irons are graphite shaft & my wedges are steel shaft...I have gotten fitted and I am going to be getting the T 300 Titleist irons with a graphite shafts and so it started me thinking why not get my new Vokey Wedges in graphite shafts as well...I wanted to ask if any of my fellow team Titleist members have had graphite shafts in their wedges or team Titleist staff have as well...would appreciate hearing how that has worked out for them...the plus or minus on doing so....Thanks so much for your input. Paul

I was fitted at a Titleist Thursday a few monts ago, the fitter reccomended I go with an "A" shaft in my AP1 irons, since then I have converted my TS2 Driver, TS2 fairway woods and SM7 Vokey wedges as well, all positive so far I just have to remember not to swing too hard.

  3. I’ve played graphite shafts in my irons for over 20 years and always put the same shaft in my irons & wedges.
  4. I play UST Recoil 95 Protos in my 718CB/MB's and the Recoil Wedge Protos in my 47*,52*,58* Vokey's. I Couldn't be happier. If your going with graphite in your T 300's I would definitely put them in your wedges. Good luck

Can I pick up on an old thread as someone who has played Recoil 95's in Miz JPX900 forged irons and wedges for many years. Considered good around the greens. Ordered new 50, 54 and 58 Vokey SM7's last year from Titleist with same shaft (couldn't get fitting with graphite shaft). They were fine to good for full or 3/4 shots but forget it when it came to touch or pitch shots shots around the green... the head was often not where I expected it and the dreaded shank might pop up at any time... never had any problem with last set. I put them away and only brought them out again at the end of the season, so have played them now for about 8 weeks but still just can't get used to them... so back to old wedges (Miz S5's @ D3) which seem much lighter than the Vokeys' to me. Any thoughts would be welcome.
  6. Thank you to my fellow Team Titleist members for your input...I have read everything that you have taken the time to say...I appreciate it very much....Just another example of how great it is to be a part of the Team Titleist forum!

Actually, my T300s are True Temper AMT Red 95gm and my new Vokey's are matched but are 94gm.

It's what feels right and works best for you.

I have played the standard S200 in my Vokey wedges for as long as I have been buying Vokeys, probably 12-15 years. I am used to that heavier, slightly stiff shaft for all my touch shots around the green. When I switched to Aerotech Steelfiber i95s in my T200 irons last year, I never considered adding them to my two primary short game Vokey wedges. Since I use those two wedges---a 54.12D and either a 58.12D or a 60.08M (dependent on course conditions)---more for touch shots than full shots, I did not want to mess with the familiar feel I have developed with the S200 shafts over so many years using them in all my Vokeys.

My philosophy when it comes to my short game and the wedges I primarily use for it, is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Maybe the Aerotechs would be great, but I'm happy with those two wedges just the way they are set up now. And though I use my 54 and 58 (or 60) for full shots, too, the comfort I have working around the greens with the steel S200s after so many years using that same model, far outweighs any slight benefit I may gain in distance on full shots using a matching Steelfiber in my wedges. But that's just me.

Ask your fitter about ordering graphite shafts for the SM9s. Wedges don't use as many full shots, so there are more things to consider. I ordered the same irons shafts for my SM9s, but slightly heavier. Chat with your fitter! Good luck.
  11. I have the T300's in graphite shafts, I ended up going Cleveland CBX Zipcores in a 52* and 56* with graphite (main reason switching from Vokey to CBX was the cavity back and shafts). I am wanting to get a medium to low bounce Vokey 60* for those touch shots and tight lies around the green, and would love to know if you end up getting graphite in your Vokeys and how they feel for 1/4 to 3/4 swings.

I have T300 irons with Tensei Red graphite shafts. When I got a couple SM8s (54*D and 60*M), I put the same shafts in them and they work well. I am thinking of getting some new SM9s, and after talking to a Mitsubishi rep, he suggested I got with MMT shafts for the new Vokeys and he said they'd feel about the same but provide tighter dispersion than the Tensei Reds. Anyone have any experience with the MMT shafts? Thanks!

I have played the MMT Scoring Wedge shaft. It feels very nice, pretty close to the Dynamic Gold S400.
  14. I use the Steelfiber i80CW shafts in my 48°, 54° and 60°. My iron shafts are the Steelfiber i80. These shafts are really great feeling. Give them a try. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised!

T200's with Tensei Blue regular. I ordered a 54S SM8 wedge with the same shaft. My 58 has a steel shaft.

If you can hit non-full swing shots with your graphite shafted irons, you should be fine with the wedges, too.
