  1. I HAVE FINALLY DECIDED TO GET A PROPER SET OF WEDGES INSTEAD OF MY COLLECTION OF HODGEPODGE WEDGES. I HAVE TRIED THE SM8S AND HIT THEM BETTER THAN THE SM7S.

I WILL BE GETTING A WEDGE FITTING AFTER THANKSGIVING AND WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE IS USING THE PROJECT X LZ SHAFTS IN EITHER 5.5 OR 6.0? I RECENTLY HIT A DEMO SM8 48 10F WITH THE 6.0 AND IT FELT BETTER TO ME THAN THE DG SHAFTS.

I HAVE HEARD THAT I SHOULD LOOK AT GETTING THE 6.0 IN MY PW AND GW AND POSSIBLY GOING WITH 5.5 FOR MY SW AND LW. ANYONE HAVE THIS SET UP?

ALSO, ANYONE PLAYING THE LOW BOUNCE 58K WEDGE OUT OF SAND? THOUGHTS?

  2. G’day George
Was fitted for lz shafts for my irons so I decided to go for lz in wedges too. Went for sm8 52.08 F lz 6.0(stiff) - my irons are stiff. Then 56.12 D 5.5 lz & 60.12 D 5.5 lz.
I take full shots with gap wedge and haft to 3/4 with sw and lob wedge. I reckon stiff shaft (shaft I was fitted for with my irons lz project x) would flow into my wedges quite well. I decided to go with regular for those 2 for more feel? It makes sense to me.
If you watch TXG video on wedge shafts - during the project x lz swing, Ian recommends marching lz shaft if fitted for lz in irons. Sounds like it makes a good wedge shaft too. I’m awaiting delivery on my wedges - also got a pxg closer putter on its way. Can’t wait to get some check spin with some fresh avx’s. Always get fitted if your not sure- then u know u are using the right shaft for your swing and angle of attack etc.... cheers jr
  3. Thanks for the reply. My fitting got delayed by wind and fire so had to reschedule. I ordered some PX LZ 5.5 for my SM6 56 08M and 58 08M to see how they play. I researched it and it shows the SM6 Wedge Flex shafts are DG S200 at 130g and the PX LZ 5.5 are R+ flex at 115g. I have to ask my fitter if this will decrease the swing weight. I read that a decrease of 9g in shaft weight will lower the club swing weight by 1. I think the swing weight on the SM6 are D5 and I will be lessoning the shaft by 15g so I am hoping it doesn't equate to a D3 swing weight with the LZs.

I think I will put the LZ 5.5 on the 56 degree and keep the Wedge Flex on the 58 and then compare them and see what happens. I tend to use my 58 more than my 56 so if I don't like how it feels, I will not have changed both clubs.
