  1. I am trying to find a good bunker club and was looking at the Low Bounce K. Everything says this grind is "The Bunker Grind". I really hit low bounce wedges the best. Anything over an 08 or a 10 gives me fits. Seems like this low of a bounce out of sand wouldn't work well? Anyone playing these who could give me their opinion/experience.

    I am getting fitted this Thursday (Dec 10th) and looking at the following selection: SM8 50.08F SM8 54.10S Wedgeworks 58.06K SM8 60.04L

I have hit all of these off the mat except the Low Bounce K and now want to get fitted where I can hit off actual grass and sand to confirm. Just need to decide on the proper shaft so they are all the same.

I play the 58 degree K grind which has 14 degrees of bounce. I only use it from the sand primarily, sometimes from thick rough. I really like it from soft sand.

It looks like the Low Bounce K has the same wide bounce back to front as the normal K grind but is only 6 degrees of bounce.

Good luck with your wedge fitting. Hitting off the grass makes a big difference.

  3. Yes, hitting off the grass at my fitting was a big difference compared to hitting off the mats at the local Roger Dunn. My real-course experience is with a Vokey SM6 58.08M that I bought for $50 on Ebay. I do very well with it on fairway approaches when I am 20-30 yards away from the green. I like the way it plays when I do what I am supposed to do so I decided to play Vokeys. My fitting showed I can hit the following pretty well:

50.08F or 50.12F for full swings or 3/4 swings out to 60 yards. Not much difference to me and I am unsure if I should go with the higher bounce if I need to get out of a 2nd cut or rough as compared to a clean fairway shot.

54.10S for my 60 yrd and out of soft sand. Seems like I should start with this one as I can play it from more conditions.

I am up in the air with the 60.04L which I hit like gangbusters off mats. They didn't have that club at the fitting so I was disappointed with that.

I hit png G irons with the Regular AWT 2.0 shafts which are 98g and the AWT Wedge is listed at 118g. I was looking to shaft my Vokeys with the TT AMT Black R300 @ 115g since I will be hitting my png PW.

it all depends on how confident you are out of bunkers and the condition of the bunkers you play in. I use a 60.12 D for green side bunker shots and my 56.10 S grind when I need my bunker shot to travel a little further.
