  1. I have decided to order some Vokey SM8 wedges. I was fitted recently so I now know my lofts, bounce and grinds I will be ordering, but I was not able to try different shafts during the fitting.

I currently play a png G PW @ 45 degrees with the stock AWT Wedge shaft ( 118g and mine are at 35 inches).

I am ordering Vokey SM8s in 50, 54, 58 and 60 lofts. I was looking at shafting them all 35 inches with either the TT AMT Black R300 (115g) or the Project X LZ 6.0 (Stiff @ 120g) or the 5.5 (R+ @ 110g). I have read to shaft the 58 and 60 in the "softer" shafts (5.5) and the others in a 6.0 ?

I am having no luck finding a fitter that is able to switch the shafts to the heads at a fitting and I am a bit hesitant to pay $250 and drive to the Titleist Oceanside fitting facility. I've already dropped $125 + tip on the initial fitting. Picking a wedge shaft can't really be this complicated?

I am leaning towards the AMT Blacks because they have the weight and trajectory I like, but I have never swung them.

Anyone playing the AMT Blacks in their wedges? If so, your experiences?

I am 55 yrs old and I have a slower (mid-80s) driver swing speed. I usually do only partial swing shots with my wedges higher than 50 degrees.

    Thanks for any input.

look at the KBS-HI REV 2.0's
I have them in all my Wedges and love the performance and shot making ability.

  3. Thanks. I have my second fitting scheduled for the 29th and this time the fitter has interchangeable shafts and heads. Also, I just ordered a TM Hi Toe Big Foot in 60 which has the KBS Hi Rev 2.0 shaft stock, so I can play it out of the sand and around the greens to and see how it does. I plan on getting set up for a 50 and 54 degree SM8 first, put them in my bag with my png PW and then play around with a 60 degree. I actually seem to hit a SM8 60.04L very well. Strange. I have a 58.08M SM6 that I currently play and just don't want to give it up. I love hitting that wedge. It has the stock DG S200 Wedge Flex at 129g and it just feels balanced. I don't want to mess with it. Yet I will hit other wedges with the S200 and not the same feel.
  4. I forgot to ask, do they launch high even with full swings and do they have too much spin-back when they land? I always prefer a higher flight with a stop or minimum rollout after the ball lands. I very rarely play in windy conditions so I prefer to have that arching ball flight with a steeper landing angle. Thanks.
