I am looking for advice on the vokey grind most similar to cally mackdaddy forged c-grind for playability in a lob wedge. I have tried to replace my Old md-forged 60-08 c-grind a couple of times now with a 58k grind sm7 and a vokey design 60v but keep going back to the c-grind as I did not feel comfortable opening the face of either vokey around the greens. V Grind was a better fit but best vokey I ever owned was 258-08. Is there anything that would suit me in the sm9 range? No titleist fitting available locally so looking for experience of other golfers that have made the switch from c-grind back to titleist. Thanks

M grind will be very similar. 8 degrees of bounce with heel, toe and trailing edge relief.

Thanks for your input. I do have access to my son’s old sm5 58/08 m Grind so I will give it a try around the greens.
I am assuming it won’t have changed much over the years?
It would seem that the original M(F) grind was popular with professionals but has been superseded by low bounce tour only grinds these days.
Having a quick look through online retailers stock, it seems like D grinds and K grinds are much more readily available in lob wedges.

Grinds evolve over the generations of Vokey's, so there is definitely no guarantee a SM5 M grind will play the same as a SM9 M grind. They are refined based on player feedback. As for professional use, there are still plenty of guys using the M grind on tour. D and K grind are high bounce wedges for softer conditions.

Tried the Sm5 M Grind today and you are spot on as it feels very similar when opening the face on flops.
Grooves are well worn on his club so I may have a more in depth look online for a sm8 on close out if I can find one as it may be a while before SM9‘s arrive on doorsteps.
    Thanks again for your insight
