Wondering if there is any data between shafts that correlates to spin and launch on partial wedge shots. It seems that the normal progression if you play X100s in your irons is to step down to S400s in your wedges. Is there a right answer? Are you giving up anything on full shots vs partial or greenside or vice versa going one way or another on wedge flex/weight.

Matt, I wouldn't neccesarily say it's stepping down (X100 - S400) as the S400 may be a softer flex but it is actually a heavier shaft than the X100. Generally on the wedges, you aren't hitting full shots so the softer flex and heavier shaft will help with control.

    Just my thoughts

Some like their shafts not a stiff as their regular clubs and some life them the same. Having them fitted can answer that question. Mine match my other clubs. Like the feel. I play regular shafts. There is no rule of thumb as I have been told by the experts.
