I play the 21 T200 irons and want to replace the (48) gap wedge to a vokey sm10 50 for better yardage gaps ! I sweep the ball but need guidance on if I should go with 50.08 or the 50.12 vokey? Heard the 12 will play more similar to the t200 ap wedge but with my swing type maybe the 08 might be better ? Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks

Certainly a personal choice. I would say you should consider how you will use the club and go from there. I went 52.08 over 52.12 mainly because we have more tight lines, firmer turf, and I use the 52 for long chips as much as I do for full shots from the fairway. If I mainly used it from the fairways or our courses were thicker, softer turf, I will likely go with the 12 degree bounce. Pick one and if it doesn’t work out, trade it in on the other or get both and alternate based on course conditions. Good luck.

Impossible to say without a fitting. Hit a few full shots with each, and you should be able to tell which is better for your swing. If you can't try both, then if you typically play in firmer conditions, then the 8 should be fine... if you play in softer conditions, then try the 12. I would certainly be concerned with loft as well... going from a 48 in T200 to a vokey in the same loft, you should see a decrease in distance simply based on the club designs. You would be best served by doing gapping with a fitter on a launch monitor to make sure you get the coverage you're looking for.

Being a "picker" like you, I've always used the lowest bounce Vokey makes. Then again, I work diligently on my wedge game from 140 and in. It takes major time and feedback to get comfortable. As the guys have previously said, preference is huge with our golf clubs, and we're all a little different. The key is being able to develop 1/2, 3/4, and full swings with all your wedges, developing feel for each yardage.

54-10S set to 53 as a gap wedge. Works good for longer bunker shots.

My thumbnail is my basic wedge setup. It also approaches what I played in 2013 when I broke 40 for 9 holes the first time (which was AP1 P, SM4 54-11M, 58-06L and 64-07T.

The dilemma is a trade off between 50-08F and 54-10S (52*). I’ve been using the S grind for about 3 years. Before that I played 50-08 as a pitching wedge. S grind is good for long bunker shots and it cuts like a sickle through thick grass. The F grind is more for full swings.
