I have played 3 rounds with test balls I received. Results were as expected. Off the tee ball flight was a little lower and hit the ground moving. Approach shots held on the greens. Excellent feel with short chip shots and putts.

I just received my sleeve and I'm hoping to play before the snow starts to fall here in New England! Thanks Titleist, I look forward to contributing feedback soon. Just got my new T-MB irons which are fantastic.

I received my sleeve of test balls last week, what a great surprise. I played and found that the balls sent were very similar in flight (launch, angle and distance) and feel off the face, of both my Titleist woods and irons, I am comparing these to the Pro V1 balls I have been playing. These test balls felt soft as they compressed on the face of the club. This sleeve of balls were great for going at the greens, landing softly and spinning. As a mid-handicap player, I appreciate a ball that will perform and I found these to be very good. Thanks Titleist!!!! Maybe send you should send me a dozen or two next time. I wish.

The test ProV1x had a better launch than before, cover and paint more durable,
slightly longer and better control around the green. Can't wait until the ball is available. This ball is in my bag to stay! There is nothing else out there like it!

    Keep up the outstanding work!!

the test balls felt similar to the pro v 1 i have played for years. Seem to be longer off the mid irons stopped about the same, maybe slightly quicker. off the tee maybe 2-5 yards longer. Had about the same feel to me putting as the pro v 1. hit 2 balls on some holes and could tell sone increase distance.
  6. I've played three times with the new test balls and am ready to purchase some! Very good feel with the longer clubs and a soft feel off of the putter. Since it is colder here (Michigan) this time of year, the spin on greens is hard to determine, but these seem to spin like a ProV1. Thanks to Titleist for providing these testing opportunities, as well as offering the most solid irons and best golf balls in the industry.

Played your delivery of test balls last week with the following data: Wind steady 15 mph, temp was 79 deg, humidity 58%, sunny and fall conditions in upstate NY. Irons played Cobra S9 II (2008), Driver Big Bertha, Hybrids cally XR's, Wedges Vokey Spin Milled 56, 58, 60
From the tee: In comparison to the Chrome Soft, the ball did reach out an additional 10 yds, had problems turning it but wind contributed to this greatly. Trajectory/Ball flight was good so I would say spin rate was great (92 mph swing speed) for me. Feel from the driver seemed a little hard for the cover, kind of plastic like.
Mid-Irons/Hybrid's: Here is where I saw much better ball flight than the driver, saw a very good stopping capability even with a 19 deg hybrid. Greens were receptive based on recent rains. Distance was slightly longer than the chrome soft but for feel off the face I have to award victory to the Chrome Soft but stopping to Test Ball
Wedges: Hands down for check and roll, flop and pitch, the test ball showed a superior advantage
Pros: Distance, Iron control and pin point stops
Cons: Feel from club faces and feedback.
Final: I have saved 2 of them for spring and summer play as well as possible Florida winter play.

My test balls were not identified but I suspect they were Pro V1 and V1x. Both played much better than the NXT's I had been playing and I used them for a good bit of the season before all were lost. However, the experience did inspire me to participate in a Titleist ball fitting when the new models came out that resulted in my first switching to the Pro V1 and then to the Pro V1x that I am currently playing. Overall, an outstanding experience that I hope to be able to participate in again! Thank you Titleist for providing another inovative way for us to improve our game and the equipment we play!

I received my test golf balls last year during the winter here in PA. I could not complete the survey of the golf ball. I finally had a chance to use them this season after I used my last Bridgestone e5, my preferred ball at the time. My Titleist Test Ball had an Orange Number and I figured it was a Velocity. I'm not the type to hit or change a golf ball once I find one I like. I've played the Bridgestone e5 for the last 5 years. Once I played my test ball I loved it. Once my test balls were used I purchased a sleeve of the Velocity to verify that this was the ball I was testing. The ball flight, distance, playability, short game shots and putting were more consistent than the ball I had been playing. Since then I have changed my preferred ball from the e5 to the Velocity. Thanks for allowing me to be a Test Panel Participant.

Just received my sleeve of -X1 and used one yesterday. Ball flight was same as previous. Bounded it off of cart path and only left a small mark. Hope to use more next week.
  11. Just lost the last 'Test' ball. I am a 10 handicap and I felt these balls gave me better control off the tee and the short game was comparable to the 'ProV1'. I used the test balls for at least 15 rounds of golf, alternating with other brands, I preferred the test balls.

I compared this to PROV 1X. The new test ball felt slightly softer off the putter head. Although softer feel I didn't need to give it any more power to get it to the hole. Off of irons and driver it was a wash. It did go slightly higher as compared to my normal trajectory but my normal is also low. On short iron and wedge shots it went about the same distance and stopping was about the same. Overall a good ball

Received test balls the other day. Excited to participate in any Titleist R&D.

The red #1s hit straight of the driver. But felt especially good with the hybrids and around the green. Felt soft with the wedges and not a lot of release on the green.

    Look forward to future participation!

    Thanks TT

I received my sleeve of Titleist prototype test balls. I played with them and thought they felt very consistent even on off center hits. The course I played retained some moisture from a rain the previous day. The ball stayed consistent landing on the greens. The spin was very controllable. I am very happy with this ball's consistent feel and play throughout the round. Send me some more. I can play this ball forever.

Played with test ball on Thursday. Really like it. Felt like a proV1, good spin, and soft go putt with. I did hit path with ball of hole 13 and marked it up pretty good. Over all thumbs up for sure. Shot 75 with the Ball

Not enough time yet to give full review, but these feel great for pitches, chips and off the putter. Feel off putter is especially good. Perfect amount of audible feedback. Loving it so far.
  17. Hey TT I just tried to sign up for your prototype ball testing but I guess u just do it for US golfers. Don't forget there r a lot of golfers in Canada as well.

I got the test balls in the mail this week, tested the red "1" at Hazeltine National yesterday for 9 holes and played my ProV1x on the back 9. I can say definitively that the new test ball is longer than my ProV1x and not by a small margin, conversely there is noticeably less spin with my iron shots, even my 56 and 60 vokeys were hitting and releasing on the greens. All told a great feeling ball and it's always nice adding a few yards to my game.
  19. Played 2 rounds with the proto ProV1x. It seemed to be longer off the tee for me but feels firmer than the current model off the tee and on/around the greens. I didn't seem to get as much bite on wedge shots as with the current version. I did score well with it, however. Very durable cover.

I received the prototype balls last year (2015) but have not received any this year. I would like to try them. Sounds like an improved product.
