Even though I received the golf balls during the month of October in Michigan it turned out to be a pretty good weekend for a test. Compared to the ProV1x that I usually play this ball seemed to be more responsive off the driver and irons both. Not sure if you did something with the core but it was as long as distance balls when I tested it against them. It felt good through impact and responded well on the greens as usual. As mentioned by others the launch angles were good and it held the line well in the wind over the weekend. Will plan on getting these when they reach the market. Thanks for the opportunity to preview.
  2. Played the prototype Pro V1x today. Played the 1st 9 with the currently sold Pro V1x, and then played the test ball.

I thought the test ball felt heavy/harder, especially when I had miss hits on my full shots. But when I hit the sweet spot, the ball reacted well and gain a couple of yards. Around the green, I liked it better than the current version. Felt similar on the face (heavy/harder), but that feedback was helpful. Shot checked when it needed, and rolled when it needed. Putting didn't feel any different then the current version.

I want to play another round and see if the ball feels the same way. That'll be 2 weeks from now.

Felt longer off the tee with with less spin and a more boring ball flight with the mid irons. Great hop and stop action around the green. Felt firm and controllable off the the putter face.
  4. I was invited to play in a scramble this week and was paired with a good player. He was bigger, stronger, younger and he hit nice a draw. I'm a 7 handicap and he was probably a couple of shots better, I'm 56 and he was probably 20 years younger
I hit my test balls for the event and was surprised how far I was hitting them. Easily keeping up with my teammate and we were gauging our clubs off of each other.
Loved the ball. Soft feel and great distance.

I did a few hours of testing with the balls...doing a back to back comparisons on a foresight simulator with a few different balls of various brands.

I'm a pro long driver, the simulator at my training facility is accurate give or take 10 yards.

With the test ball I was consistently getting 500 rmps less spin with my driver
between 1900-2100rpms of back spin, roughly 350 yards with an average ball speed of 180mph, 135-140mph club head speed.

At the same club head speed and ball speed with the current pro v1x I was getting about 2500-2700 rpms of back spin, and a distance of about 330-335 yards, largely due to the spin. Granted at those speeds the higher the back spin the shorter the distance.

I also tested the test balls with my irons, on the simulator I just used a 7 iron.

The test ball got almost 1000rpms (roughly 6500-7000) less back spin than the current pro v1x.

It consistently went about 4-6 yards further than the current pro v1x.

I did play them on the course as well, the ball had great flight and penetrating distance off my driver...

...However, I found that it did not hold the greens very well. Playing in western PA in the fall, the course was very soft, balls were plugging virtually on every tee shot, and even some approach shots. The greens were pretty soft (mix of bent and poa greens). When my approach shot didn't plug, it ran, similar to what an NXT would typically do...

In summary, they have a great penetrating flight with less spin, which resulted in more distance. Though they did not have a lot of "bite" to them on the greens, less back spin (bite) than what I'd typically expect in a top tier "spin" ball.
  6. Just received the new test balls the other day. Put them in play today and I actually like these better than my normal ProV1's. Had a terrific feel to them, especially on the greens! Can't wait to try more test's in the future.

    Morning!
Got my "test" balls on Friday(10-21-16). They came at a great time, the weekend! Living in MI the weather this time of year is unpredictable. However, this weekend was warmer than average and gave me a good chance to test the new balls. As there wern't to many people golfing I had a chance to hit my old ball and the test one also. I found that the test balls felt softer when hit-something I like. Drives and irons when hit went about 5-8 yards further than with my old preferred Titlest balls. I was impressed! Chipping and putting did not seem to have any difference. I always use Titlest balls-the only ball that is always consident to my game. I want to say THANK YOU for allowing me to test these "new: balls. I look forward to getting them soon. Have a great day! Sincerely, Dennis
  8. So how do I order Titleist that just say "test"? This ball seemed to fly much farther than the ProV1 I usually play. Around the greens the stopping ability was very similar and putting feel was excellent. This was my best round of the year. Thank you Titleist for this opportunity.

I found the balls the have a great feel. Improved over the last model. with the driver and fairway they felt a touch firmer and felt quite powerful off the tee and fairway par 5 second shots. I felt I gained avg 6-8 yards off tee shots for both days. The long irons had a higher flight then the older ball. I would typically hit my 3-4 hybrids with a mid trajectory. I found this a bit higher for me which played perfect again for "me". mid to short irons I felt the ball stayed at the same trajectory as the old ball which was good so it didn't balloon.
For short game I found it had a very noticeably difference in spin and that i could carry the ball further by a few feet and have it check better. Putting felt soft yet responsive.
  10. Great ball. Loved all aspects - distance, short game, etc.

I absolutely love the test balls I received this week. My drives were noticeably longer and my irons were high and landed soft. Definitely a nice feel off the putter too. The thing I noticed MOST was the ball was not damaged at all after 18 holes unlike the prov1 & 1x which are usually nicked and damaged after 5 or 6 holes. I love the test balls and would buy them now if you'd let me.
    Thanks for the opportunity

Got may balls last week and played them yesterday.

Conditions - mid 50's temp with about 10-15 wind.

Driver - Seemed slightly longer. Feel was very good. Not too soft or hard. Most notably the sound, reminded me of the balata balls. :-) With the sideways wind, the ball seemed to hold the line better.

    Irons - same as driver.

Chips & Pitches - Now this was nice. Crisp off wedges, spin was just right. Very predictable grab and roll out.

I don't like a ball that is too soft or hard. These balls were prefect. I have a T916 driver. With this driver the traditional Titleist sound and feel of impact was lost. This ball brought it back a little bit, good thing,

Putting - I use a Scotty Newport Studio which has excellent feel. I was pleasantly surprised the feel and sound improved!

I received the balls earlier this year. Two sleeves with a square on one sleeve and a triangle on the other. Both performed well. The square seemed to perform better in windy conditions and the triangle was longer than the Pro V's I normally play. Both were excellent around the greens and I really didn't see much of a change in the putting performance. Overall, I was impressed with the performance and durability of each sleeve. Thank you for giving me the opportunity.

A sleeve of Titleist arrived last week. Played this weekend and I thought the ball was similar to the ProV1X in spin. It was longer than the ProV1X and I noticed a slight clicking sound coming off my irons that I do not hear with the ProV. I lost 1 of the 3 due to the leaves laying everywhere on my local course :(

Received my 3 test balls last week. Played them in 55 deg temps in Wisconsin. I thought I got more distance off the tee. Had a great feel coming off the irons. I don't spin the ball but it did check up better. Putting was good as well with a good feel and nice roll. Had some of my playing partners hit it a few holes and they love the sound and feel coming off all their clubs as well. Over all 2 thumbs up on this test ball!

Just played mine today. Felt like a ProV1x but a little softer and stickier on the cover. Great off the Driver as it seems I got about 10 yards more and less spin. Same distance off wedges and irons. Felt a little softer on the putter. Since it had a red number figured it might be a test ProV1x but played better for me. Been playing ProV1 lately but would prefer this one instead. Thanks Titleist! Shot 72 today at Quail Ridge in Ada MI

tested the proto ball over the weekend. Overall it was good, didn't feel the same off the driver as the V1. Did have a lot more juice coming into the greens though. Thanks Titleist for the opportunity to try these out.

Received the test sleeve Friday and played them Sunday morning. Guessing they were PV1X's. Played like a PV1X, firm off the tee and pretty good around the greens. Played ok (10.8 index & 66 yrs old) but I still would rather play a softer ball, especially in cooler weather. Oh yea, lost 2 of the 3, 1 ob and the other couldn't swim!

I have played a few rounds with the test balls that I received at Prestwick Golf Club. The test balls seemed to hold the shot if you didn't quite catch it with the center of the club. The balls ran out quite well when playing a draw when using a driver. With approach shots, the balls had good spin when hitting the green. I did notice that one of the test balls received a cut quite quickly while the others tested held up quite well. Overall, the balls worked as well and in some cases better than the balls on the market. Thanks for given the opportunity to test and provide some feedback.
