I love being a part of the test program. My only complaint is that both times I have received test balls it has been October. The weather has started to turn and conditions aren't really optimum for testing. Once the temps get down in the 50's or 60's all golf balls lose performance. I don't feel like I've been able to provide quality feedback because I'm playing in bad conditions. The ball isn't reacting like it would under normal playing conditions, i.e. 70's our 80's temperatures. I'd love to test in the heat of the summer. Thanks Titeist.

Friday received my test balls.. Took them out this Monday am and played them... loved the distance, launch, and they actually didn't drift to either side.. for my drives.. Wedge shots had a fair amount of feel and were workable.. putting with this ball seemed slow and that could have been the greens as we have had a lot of rain and the temps were in the high 50s only.. Keep up the good work guys and thanks for allowing me to test them..
  3. I had a great time, but I believe the cover and the reaction to my swing speed and ball reaction was very similar to Pro V 1x. I couldn't see much difference but they played very well for me. I was able to shoot 74 at Forest Park here in New York. My break down is below:

Drive: 10.5 loft my launch angle is a bit high, so i didn't see much roll. my carry was very similar to my regular Pro V1x. The ball was very workable as i'm a natural draw. I think Adjustments to gain more roll is in my setup and not the balls problem even though soft covers tend to leave me with just carry and not much roll based on launch angles.

    Approach shots:

The test ball was very receptive to my club face and landed softly on the greens without much rollout. High spin rate. I was very happy with this. I didn't see much ddifference but I was happy to see it had sticking playability on the green. My evaluation is Pro V or Pro V1x, but more Pro V for the sticking reaction on green.

    Scramble:

I had a great time pin seeking and having the spin reaction I need with not much rollout with my Vokey 60. Very please. Very Pro V one reactions.

    Putting:

True Roll. Not much complaining. Not much difference from my standard Pro V1x. I do wish we could have optional colors for the alignment mark on the ball. There is so much standard black standards, but changing this standard would be a fun element that helps with alignment and draw difference from other branded balls.

  4. Love the new ball, it has a nice feel. For me it flys a bit higher which is fine for me. Great job Titleist!

I could not tell any difference in the Pro V test balls. Good distance off tee and very soft for chipping and putting. The X balls were ok and preformed as expected.

I got a sleeve of three the other day and played 18 holes with one ball. There was no designation other than test on the ball. The distance seemed spot on, and it seemed to have less side spin. It worked well on and around the greens. It performed exactly as a Titleist should.

Just purchased the 917 D2. Played two rounds so far and I am really impressed. Went though the complete fitting process so I am acutely aware of spin rates and launch angles (tried 5 different shafts). My last prototype ball testing was a while ago and was less than scientific. After seeing the difference that shafts and setup make, it would be really interesting to compare those same results with two different balls (three if you count the Pro Vx I am currently using). Maybe even compare a regular Pro V

I played my test balls this past weekend. They had the look and the feel of a standard Pro V1X. Typical Fall weather up here in the North had that temperature around 50 degrees. Ball flew well even with the cool temps off the irons and driver. Feel around the green was as expected, excellent. Ball cover is durable and soft which are perfect for my liking. Ball rolled nicely off the putter. Did lose one ball into the water hazard, operator error on my part. The ball certainly deserved the Titleist branding while meeting my always high expectations from your products.

I just received the balls a few days ago - in time for the NE weather to turn unfriendly to golf. I will have to delay comment until I get to FL in a couple of months
  10. I received the test balls late last week and have not had a chance to do anything but chip with them (weather here in Chicagoland is getting challenging for golf). They felt great and reacted well. If I get a chance to play a round with them I will post my thoughts.

Compared the test balls with the 2016 model. Distance was relatively close. Control seemed to be better, especially on short iron shots and around the green. The feel of the ball was great from tee to green, as well as on the green. Overall I like the test balls and the way they played.
  12. I normally play the Pro V1x and am a single digit handicap. I played my normal Pro V1x and the new test ball, both on the same round. In an effort to try to achieve fairness, I would move both balls to the same place in the fairway before hitting my second shot. Both balls seemed to go virtually the same distance from the tee. Both balls also seemed to go virtually the same distance with my irons, landing within a foot or two on the green. The only consistent difference that I noticed was the Prototype Test ball seemed to release more on full iron shots than the existing Pro V1x. The wedge would release approximately 2-3 feet on firms greens with the Pro V1x and about 6-7 feet with the Prototype. The 7 iron released approximately 3-4 feet on firm greens with the Pro V1x and about 10-12 feet with the Prototype ball. One of my test rounds was quite windy and the Prototype ball seemed as if it held its line in the wind slightly better than the Pro V1x. I'm sure it was just a coincidence, but I hit the Prototype inside of 2 feet twice, although in 18 holes I made 6 birdies, three with the Prototype and three with the Pro V1x.
  13. I have played 2 rounds with the prototype. I normally use the Prov1x and did not notice any difference in feel or distance with this one. The only noticeable difference was inside 60 yards to the green. I can usually get the Prov1x to spin, but I was not able to with the prototype. Maybe it was just me. I really liked the feel off the putter. Very soft and it rolled true. Made some nice 15 to 20 foot birdie putts. I would love to continue product testing for Team Titleist!!
Thanks for letting me take part in this testing.

I received my sleeve of Pro Vx on Thursday and played all weekend. Unfortunately I was unable to get on a flightscope with the balls to compare them to past models. What I did notice is that the cover seems to be more durable and less spin. Conditions were extremely windy yesterday and whenever I switched to last years model during the round the balls seemed to get tossed around by the wind more.

  15. First off, I was super excited when I received the test balls in the mail. This is the second time I've tested. This time, I put in more short game work, along with playing a few rounds. Overall I liked the ball, it was a bit harder than I prefer on putts and inside 100 yards. Seemed to be pretty durable considering I did hit them off a fee trees LOL. Distance wasn't any better than the ProV1x I played against it. Hopefully this helps and I get chosen to test again in the future.
  16. First, thank you for the opportunity to participate in the trial. I did receive the sleeve and put them to trial. What I found was that the ball was in between the V1 and V1x. I much prefer the V1 over the V1x but have always liked some of the features of the x. This ball appears to provide the combination of the two balls I have always liked. Softness for putting, spin and check and distance.
  17. Great ball, thought I hit the driver a little better and still had all the spin around the greens. Cover didn't scratch as much as previous Pro V 1's.

Played a round today with the new prototype Titleist golf balls and they performed better than expected. Just when you think that there is not much more room for improvement they do it again and make a good ball even better. The new prototype feels good coming off the face of all clubs and has a nice ball flight compared to the previous version ProV1. Can't wait to play more with these prototypes.

Received my "Red" sleeve 2 days ago, Tried them out this afternoon. More responsive off the club face, less spin and held better on approach shots (when hit properly). Very good feel and can't wait for the 4 for 3 next spring. Thank you for making this available to me.
  20. I'm not as tuned into golf ball performance as some of the other testers, but what i can tell you is that these balls are as long as any I have hit. Plus they have the Pro V spin and feel.
