  1. I assume the test ball is an improved ProV1. My problem has been holding geens. This stayed where it landed. It also was great on putts and chips. I'll buy some when they go into production.

  2. I received the test balls 2 weeks ago. I felt great distance off the tee. I could tell a slight difference in the ball. I wish I could receive more from Titleist.
Thank You Titleist for the prototype golf balls I loved them.

I receive my 2 sleeves with no markings but a triangle for one sleeve of balls and a square for the other. I figure the Square were Pro V1X and the triangle Pro V1s. Both with incredible feel and response in and around the greens. I like the triangle or Pro V1s for firm courses, it rolls a lot and gives me great distance. They do release more if the green is on the firm side as they come in a more shallow angle. I some times try different brands, but for the last 25 years a keep coming back to Titleist. For me nothing comes close to performing every shot, every hole every day like a Titleist. I lost one of my test balls to a signature from Greg Norman but a figure it was worth it. Thanks for allowing me to participate in a blind test.

Cool (low-mid 50's) and windy when I took them out yesterday so maybe not a fair test but what I perceived was great feel off the tee and apparently 10-15 yards more distance than I usually hit. For some reason, I did not get the same feel on my approach shots as I would have expected but my middle irons abandoned me anyway. Saw no difference on the greens but again, I was playing in fall conditions and the greens had been aerated last week. Send more anytime...I lost the last ball on hole 15.
  5. Tried the new test balls yesterday. I normally play the V1x ball. I noticed right away the ball was harder with less feel. It did go farther and had a real solid feel when struck properly. I like the way it drove but not around the greens or on the green. I prefer the V1x ball.

Played yesterday on a beautiful Fall day in Minnesota. Very good overall results with the best performance coming from with the driver...tough to tell the finer details as AM frost lead to hard afternoon greens. Durability was better than expected and feel off putter and wedges is the 'standard' in golf balls as always.
  7. Enjoyed testing the new prototype ball. At first I felt it was a little hard off the club, but I think that was a cold weather issue not a ball issue. After things warmed up I felt the ball was outstanding. Good feel off the club, excellent distance and superb feel on the short game. I think it's a keeper.

I signed up via one of the numerous adverts promoting the opportunity to test, but haven't received any sort of update. I assume that I've not been chosen?

I finally had a chance to play the Titleist test balls today. Very happy, they shot off the driver excellent 10-15 yds easily longer & straight. Very easy to putt. Irons check up nice and about 5 yds longer then my Pro V1,s

I have toyed the test balls you sent me. I play the true soft yellow ball and played both balls all around the course. The rest ball you sent me seemed to go a little longer but I was having a hard time keeping it in the fairway. It felt like I was drawing the ball more than usual. Like I said I play the true soft and keep it in the short grass a lot better than the rest ball. MyY handycap is 20 but I play a lot. My drives are about 200 yards. Because I am 71 , but better around the greens.

I found the test balls similar to the pro v1 ball. Enjoyed the great feel putting as well as approach shots. Same great quality! Thanks Titleist,

  12. Tried the test balls and found that I do not get as much distance as Titleist Velocity but better workability around the greens. Definitely feels softer than the Velocity.
Tested this ball in late October in Northern Illinois which may be the result of shorter distances off the tee.

I just received the test balls and really appreciate them unfortunately I won't be able to play them for a while just had back surgery, the last time I got the test balls I really enjoyed testing them all I play are Pro VX and like all Titleist I know these new test balls will out perform me I'am a 16 handicap and I can still see the difference the Titleist makes in my game.
    Thanks Titleist

I finally had a chance to play the ball today, the condition were not the best (45 degrees and 10-15 mph) but I managed to get it in. I have the red number ball. The first thing I noticed was the soft feel on almost all clubs. It seemed to have low spin on the driver. I hit a pitching wedge out of the first cut of rough and the ball stopped on a dime. I would buy this ball.
  15. I received my Red letter test balls last week and instantly I could tell the were a little softer than the ProV 1x, which is my current ball. Our fall has been great for golf here in MN, and I was excited to take the out with me this past Saturday for a round at our local TPC. The course is in perfect shape and I knew it was going to have fun testing out a new golf ball. After the front 9 I knew that i had my new ball for next year and here is what I noticed with the test balls after all 18 were in.
My driver height was inconstantly higher and I got a little more roll-out, which added up to be a distance gain. My natural 5 to 10 yard fade shrank as I think the spin was down a little, nice to see. The biggest gains were noticed with my mid to long irons, which are AP2's. The ball melted into the face as it took off and just kept going, with my 6 iron gaining up to 5 yds. The short irons and wedge shots were very consistent, with slight distance gains also seen here. My 100 yd shots were all a little long, and they stopped on a dime (not going to see much backspin playing fall ball in MN, most places stop cutting and only roll the greens) Chipping around the green was like I was playing a V1, not a V1x- took a little getting used to. Putting was also like playing with a V1, it took a little getting used but then I was ok with it.
All in all, I am sure this new ball will be replacing my current ball this spring. I enjoyed the positives it offered and after a couple of rounds, I am sure I will get used to the new game it delivers.
I would like to thank Titleist for letting me test them.
  16. Received the test balls about 10 days ago. Loved them tee to green a lot like the prov1x. Wish I could provide information about them on the greens but they had been recently aerated. Thanks for the opportunity to test the ball

I always look forward to trying new products and I can't thank titleist enough for sending me their latest prototype. I received the "black test" ball and was very pleased. I found that it had a lower/mid launch versus the prov1x that I've been playing lately and my distances seemed to be slightly longer than normal with the driver. The ball had similar trajectory with the irons but was still responsive on and around the greens. Great feel with the putter as well. Overall very pleased with the new ball and can't wait to put them in the bag in the near future.

I played my first round with the new prototype ball today. Although the ball looks like a ProV1x (red number, similar dimple pattern), it actually feels more like a ProV1 but seems much straighter off the driver than my prior experience with ProV1's. Short iron spin seems much higher than ProV1x, especially with a new 60 degree wedge head I just put into play. I have played ProV1x's for over 12 years and this prototype ball seems at least five yards longer than previous models. After 18 holes, the cover seems very durable, as with all previous ProV1x's. I may have only one more round this year before the cold mid-west weather arrives. I will use the same ball as long as it lasts.

I have the red numbers. I feel that the ball rolls better on the greens. It has a soft feel but it really rolls well, Distance and spin on other shots seems similar to current ball.
  20. I received my test balls and hit the links yesterday. No secret that they were Pro V1's. Felt nice on the driver but felt great on the irons. Seemed to me that the fight was lower but because of the soft cover, I still got the spin that kept my ball on the greens. The balls had a soft feel off the putter and I felt confident with my distance control. Lost one and almost cried. I need a dozen more because I told my wife that after I lost my test balls, I was putting my clubs away for the winter. Keep sending them!!!
