  1. I received the test sleeve last week (Thank You!) and played them along with my prov1. The weather in Madison Wisconsin, was cold (40)and we waited for frost. Once on the course it was immediately apparent that this ball was soft(felt good) and seemed to spin more than the prov1 off the tee and approaches. Sounded and felt great off the putter and definitely held the green on chips. The prov1 seemed a tad longer but that could have been me getting looser. Overall, I liked the test ball and would be curious on performance on a 70-80 degree day. But, I did like the feel of the test ball (on a cold day) over the

    Thanks again!!

  3. Felt much the same as the ProV1 I usually play. Most importantly to me was the feel around the greens. Consistency from 100 and in is where I put a lot of stock into the golf ball I am playing. I love knowing how the different shots I have in my game will react with the ProV1 and how they feel on the club face. The test balls I was sent felt a little more solid off the driver face...although it was a little on the chilly side in Western PA this past weekend! Thanks for getting me in on the prototype balls Titleist!

I received some of the test Pro-V1x's in my mailbox and have spent some quality time with them. It was incrementally better than the current edition. Worked well around the green. Hard to tell off of driver - the 917 is explosive with about everything. Will still prefer the -V1 I got at Pinehurst, it is better at stopping for me than the -V1x. But both still beat anything else I've tried.

I have been playing the Pro-V1x since it was first introduced in 2000-2001.
I love the fact that the ball seems to be a little softer than the last few years. It has always been extremely important for me to have that feeling around the greens. I must admit I have been concerned lately that a lot of the balls I see in the close-ups on the greens at tour events, have been cally balls. I was starting to question if I was playing the right golfball? (never really serious about changing, but the thought was there)

I am very pleased with the distance control, and the softness of my Titleist Pro-V1x! I am looking forward to using the other two balls this coming weekend. Keep up the great work!

I received my sleeve of balls last Wednesday and actually was able to test them that day. First I love that titleist provide their feedback before the ball goes to market. It's a great feeling thinking the feedback the ordinary golfer gives has some impact on the golf ball production process. With that said the ball i tested, I'm assuming prov-1x felt great. It felt very solid off the tee and great with all irons. It felt even better on the greens. My only complaint is our golf season in northwest PA is pretty much over. I would love to test this ball in the summer when I feel like I could give it a better evaluation. I love this program and always jump at this opportunity!! Thanks again. Dan
  7. I played with the ProV1x prototype balls yesterday in the suburbs of Philadelphia. The ball was long off the tee. As expected, the test balls were also soft around the greens. I will admit it was cold out, which took away some of the feel in my hands. The cover was also durable. I look forward to playing these balls when they come out on the market.

Good feel tee to green. Trajectory seemed high, which is what most amateurs need, although I was hoping for more of a boring flight. A tad of a firmer feel on the green off the putter.

I played a round with the test ProV1x on Monday. Was very cold and windy here in Ohio, but overall the ball performed very well. I would venture to say it spun slightly less than the previous version on full shots as well as pitch shots. I initially chalked the spin rate on full shots up to the wind, but I noticed the check wasn't quite as severe on pitch shots, even those driven low with lots of spin. Could have been just a day where I was swinging the driver well, but they seem to hold their line very well, even through the wind. Been a ProV1x player for years and can't see changing that anytime soon.

I received my package of ProV1x's last week. I played 9 holes on Sunday with them and shot 36. I like that they have a soft feel on shorter shots, but still feel like a hard ball off the tee. The spin is great, and all in all it is a great feeling ball.

Receive my sleeve of test balls last week and this ball really fly of the tee. There nothing I can say about the performances on and around the greens it a Titleist. This test ball perform very well in the cold Michigan weather. Play in a tournament on October 22, 2016 and the temperature never got above 50. This is a must have ball and will be in my bag next season.
  12. Played great tee to green. About 10 yards longer on average off the tee, and straighter line, less spin than the ProV1s I am used to playing. Great feel and spin with wedges into green, and solid distance control with short irons. Had trouble adjusting to putting. Had good control, but not as much feel on range. Seemed to jump off the putter a bit.

Received the balls last week before one of my junior tournaments in Chicago. Put them in play and was impressed. I couldn't tell to much of a difference overall from the previous Pro V1x but did notice the short game control was improved a small amount along with great roll of the driver for a high ball flight hitter like me. Great product.

Got mine last week and was able to put them into play on Sunday; it was neat to be the talk of my club as I was the only person to have the fabled "test" golf balls in a very long time.

The 2017 model is almost identical, at least to me, as the 2016. I only had enough daylight for nine holes, so I'd play one from the tee then play a second from some random place on my way to the green. The big difference I've noticed is that the ball climbs a bit better than the other years. I'm not a player that hits towering shots unless it's a wedge; but these climbed.

The durability was something I thought would be a bit better than previous years, but alas, after about three holes, they're already scuffed from short irons or wedges. You'd think when you spend $55 on a dozen golf balls, they'd last longer than three or four holes before they show considerable wear and tear.

Overall, another quality golf ball that will be the pinnacle of the industry....but would love to see a cover/pain job that takes a bit more punishment for the money spent.

Recently tried out the new prototype ProV1X golf balls. Great feel! Very similar to the most recent version, but less spin on shots into the wind. Look forward to getting a dozen when they are released!

Thank you Titleist for the sleeve of test balls. I have played 5 rounds with one ball. This ball has a great feel to it. It goes 5-10 yards farther off the driver and approximately the same distance with my irons. If you really compress this ball with a wedge, it really jumps. Hit several short wedge shots over the greens. Still managed to shoot close to par in every round. The cover is very durable as one ball had 5 rounds in it and it is ready for more.

Thanks for allowing me to provide feedback to team Titleist.

Just got mine the other day.

    A little about myself.....
    Handicap: 12
    Current Main Ball: Bridgestone B330S
    Backup Ball: Pro V1x
    Avg Driver Distance: 275
    Avg 7 Iron Distance: 160

    Compared to Bridgestone B330S

Distance: I feel like the test V1x balls were a little longer with my driver (maybe 25 yards). This is strictly from field testing and not from the computer. It might be due to the fact that I no longer fit into the B330S but need the RX or RX-S version but the test balls were landing a good 25 yards farther.

Driver Flight: I hit my driver very low, the ball seem to raise my flight a little bit which might explain why my drives were going a little further.

Iron Flight: Consistent boring flight, similar to my Bridgestone

Feel: They were about the same. No real difference between the two.

Durability: Again they are about the same. However compared to the previous Pro V1x they seem to hold up a little better to full wedge shots. This was the main selling point to the Bridgestones for me as they seem to last longer than the previous Pro V1x.

Full Iron Shot Spin: 7 - PW shots seem to check/stop about the same as the Bridgestones.

Full Wedge Shot Spin: Check/stop, spin back, better than Bridgestones.

Chip: Around the green spin were about the same as the Bridgestone, no big difference

Putting: I am a terrible putter so I cannot comment on this.

This is all just from field testing, I might have hit some better than others but I am leaning towards making the Pro V1x my main ball again. Still have 2 left so I will be testing again this weekend.
  19. Great ball overall! Felt a little hotter coming off the face, and was seeing a bit more distance. Soft feel on the greens.
  20. Just finished playing 18 with my first test ball today. From other comments on this site, I assume these are Pro V1 or V1x balls. I was sent the black number balls and I'm blown away by the durability of these versions. I played the same ball for the entire 18 and it doesn't have a mark on it. After cleaning it with a damp towel, it looked like it could go right back in the sleeve and judged to be brand new. The ball performed very well without an overly soft feel on full shots. When hit solidly with my miz MP-H5 irons, there was immediate crisp feedback.
Thanks for the opportunity to be a part of this test process and keep up the good work in producing great golf balls. Now...my real wish is that this ball is actually a brand new, cheaper ball. If it is, sign me up for a gross!
