The Left Dash is my go to ball. I am high spin player and have struggled with iron distance because of it. I don't get much rollout on the greens no matter which club I am coming in with. After years playing the V and the X I tried the AVX. I loved the ball off the irons but felt I gave up distance off the tee with it.

The Left Dash was everything I want in a ball- High compression for distance off the driver and low iron spin to prevent ballooning.

If I had any complaint it would be durability. I find that the cover isn't quite as resilient as the V or X but I wouldn't change it if it sacrificed the other characteristics. I am hoping it becomes a permanent part of the lineup.

FYI- I have made a hole in one on 3 of 4 par 3s at my home course over the past 4 seasons; one each with the V the X and the AVX. I am hoping to complete the circuit and make an ace on the last one with the Left Dash.
  2. I had switched from the Pro V1 that I was playing the last few years to the TP5X this season. I heard about the left dash and was quite interested in giving it a shot. So much in fact, I paid $15 for a sleeve at the pro shop.

I had switched to the TP5X as I was seeing distance gains off the tee, my ball flight became straighter and I preferred the firm feel, especially off the putter. The Pro V1 was not as long and too soft for me when it came to putter feel. It felt like it was sticking to my putter face like gum on the bottom of a shoe. I simply couldn’t get the ball moving like I wanted to. The Pro V1x wouldn’t stay in the fairway for me, but I loved the feel when putting. Because of those issues and the performance I was getting from the TP5X, especially the roll out on drives, led me to switch. That was then.

I splurged on the $15 sleeve of left dash balls because I had searched for them around and this was the first time I had actually seen them. Almost mythical this ball had become. Went to play my first round with the left dash. I teed it up on the first and smashed my drive right down the middle of the fairway. I couldn’t tell if it was as far as my current ball, but it felt a hell of a lot firmer off the driver face. Almost like a rock. I finished that hole with a par then promptly put the TP5X back into play. The ball felt too firm off the driver, at first. I played my current ball for the next two holes. Then came the first par 3. A non-driver hole, so I figured I’d give the left dash another chance. Well I knocked it stiff. Didn’t win the skin on that hole, but the left dash stayed in play the rest of the day.

Long story short, I went home and ordered two dozen of the left dash. This ball will be in my bag until Titleist discontinues it. I like the low spin as it runs down the fairway for miles off the driver and the firm feel off of the putter suits me. I love this ball, end of story! YMMV

I just switched to the left dash 2 weeks ago and am really liking the performance so far with 2 rounds under my belt. I bounced around using different balls and was really looking for a ball that spun less but still had that firm feel I prefer. I am finding it goes further on all shots and even performs well around the green.....this ball is a keeper for me. Thank you Titleist for making this ball available to the public.

    Update 9/8:

I took the left dash out today and played 18 at East Potomac in Washington, DC. If you’re not familiar with East Potomac, it’s flat and I mean really flat. I do not believe there are any elevation changes greater than a few feet. As such I find it a great place to test golf balls.

Overall the left dash felt amazing and performs great but I’m not certain it’s the ball for me. As I tend to be a high ball hitter, I found that the left dash was going too high and was costing me distance with my irons. This is something that my playing partners, who I never played with before, even commented on.

I signed up to do a virtual ball fitting next Tuesday morning and plan on discussing this with the fitter, I believe I signed up with Emma but would have to check.

As good as the left dash feels, I’m leaning towards staying with the Pro V1 or giving the new AVX a look to help lower my ball flight and keep my distance where I am used too.

I've been playing a different brand's ball recently (rhymes with "Smidgestone Smour BX") but just placed an order for some left dash (with Team Titleist logos of course) and based on everything I've read am excited to try them out as I think they'll be right up my alley. I never loved how soft the ProV1s were and the ProV1x spun too much for me so this hopefully is the Goldilocks Titleist option I need.

I love the Pro V1x Left Dash. I have played Titleist my entire life and having been using the Pro V1X most of the time since its introductory, also I change to the Pro V1 certain times. I feel the Pro V1x Left Dash gives me a little more yardage on the irons and the wind hardly affects its flight. Titleist is ahead of all the other ball mfg companies. I can hardly wait for what is new on the horizon for titleist golf balls.

I switched over to the -ProV1x in the spring. I had been playing TM TP5x for the last 3 years, I started experimenting with different balls last fall and indoor testing this winter. I was all set to go back to the TP5x until I tried a the -ProV1x. I like everything about it...reminds me of the prior ProV1x which I played before you changed to the current model.
It’s long of the tee, perfect height and plenty of spin for me around the greens. My playing partners were amazed at how much this ball has changed my game...especially off the tee. If you discontinue this version to the general public I will be extremely disappointed and probably will have to go back to the TP5x as the other 2 models just don’t work well enough for me.

Any way to get a sample pack. Would love to try them
  10. Just heard word from my buddy on tour, that the new 2021 ProV1 is just feeling like the -leftdash V1x too. With a bit more spin around the green but coming of the TSI4 like the -leftdash did. -leftdash driver spin, with more spin around the green, the perfect ball to me, so may be going to the 2021 ProV1 if this is true.

If the 2021 ProV1 feels like the left dash, what is the left dash going to feel like? And the V1X for that matter?

I have played the LD since February. I got to test it in warm weather and it was longer side by side with my TS2 driver than the X or the 1. I really like the harder feel putting and chipping which is why I was always played the X for years and now the LD. Curious how the 2021 versions of the X and the 1 perform as I hear the LD doesn’t get updated. Anyone have any data on the new ones vs. the LD

Recently switched from Pro V1 to the left dash. I'm someone who hits down on the ball, even the driver comes in at negative 1 deg. I've done a lot of ball testing over this season to try and reduce some spin thru the whole bag, especially with the wedges. My last attempt to reduce ball spin I put the AVX up against the Left Dash. AVX is way too soft for my liking, the left dash is way firmer then the regular Pro v1 especially off the driver. Not horrible, just different. Didn't take long to get use to. Main thing I noticed is I feel I can control the spin more then any other ball I tested. If I need it to check I can get it to check, If I need it to release I can make it happen. Flight is not much higher then standard. Left dash does everything I hope it would, reduces spin thru the bag, easier to control in the soft greens here in the wet PNW, no longer does a pin high full wedge shot spin off the front of the green. If your a digger of the golf ball, give them a try!
  14. I feel the same way. They are my go to for wet conditions when less spin is needed.

I’ve circled through all of the models this year and I’m back to the stock ProV1, Left Dash model didn’t offer much of a difference with my swing. Both models check up about the same for me and distance relatively the same.

Just switched after finding out about them through TXG's youtube channel. I have a pretty high natural ball flight that has a LOT of spin.

    First Impressions:
I do really like this ball! The harder feel than the normal ProV1X that I play is very welcome for the long game.

They definitely have a much better (lower) spin for me with irons. Where I normally back up my PW-6i a significant amount they are dropping and stopping or rolling out a couple feet which is a very welcome change! I can go pin seeking on par 3's with my irons vs having to play to hit it deep and back it in.

Around the green with wedges the spin is great, easily able to control with a flop or a low bump and run!

Over all I think these are a GREAT improvement for me in all areas specifically. I do prefer the yellow balls so that would be the only option I would really like but i know I'm in the minority there. Great work Titleist, I can't wait to see what the 2021 balls bring!
  17. I played the ProV1 and migrated to the Pro V1x when it was introduced, but around 2016 or 2017 I felt like they spun way too much off full iron shots and wedges. On softer greens or fast greens with slope the full short irons and wedges would rip back. I want a ball that stop on a dime, but not uncontrollably rip back 15 feet or more. So, I started testing other balls. I like the higher compression balls and at 57 I’m a +3 handicap with 118 mph club head speed and have always put a lot of spin on the ball through the bag. I played/tried the Bridgestone 330 then the BX, the srxn Z Star XV, TM Tour Preferred X, and settled on the miz MPX (European Ball) for a year or so because it had great feel and I could control the spin better, but still could get a little too much on full short irons. I think I was the only player in the 2018 US Senior Open playing a miz ball. In 2019 I tried the TM TP5x and loved it! Really low spin off the driver, great feel, plenty of stopping power on approach shots and around the greens, but no too much spin. This has been the ball for me until today!

Two week ago I played in the inaugural East West Matches and Titleist was a major sponsor providing us with bags, balls, etc. I very much appreciate Titleist supporting this event and amateur golf! After this event, I felt like I owed it to Titleist to play their golf balls. So last weekend I pulled out a dozen 2011 Pro V1x from my closet. I still have 8-10 dozen PRE 2015 versions. Anyway, I loved them, but with a limited supply what would I do when I run out? Talking to my friends at Sellinger’s Power Golf in Addison, TX, they gave me a sleeve of -Pro V1x (left dash) to try. Played them yesterday & today at Maridoe Golf Club, my home course, and now I have finally found a ball that is absolutely awesome for my game! Love the flight, tighter dispersion and more consistent distance than the TM TP5x, great feel, penetrating ball flight, full short irons stop without ripping back, and plenty of spin around the greens! I can control the flight and spin better than any ball I have previously tried. Please keep making this ball!
  18. I switched the beginning of this season. I'm a 5 handicap Definitely longer than the tp5. Also longer than prov1x for me. I tend to have too much driver spin and not enough height with iron shots. My low launch on the driver compensates for the spin but if it is wet I have no distance. Irons won't drop and stop because too low. Now my driver is higher and farther my irons are longer with more height. I was worried about the feel at first because I like a softer ball for putting but i haven't noticed any feel issues in the short game.
  19. I played the pro v1x left dash prior to lockdown 2.0 in Ireland. Prior to that ball I played the cally chrome soft x.. I found the ball flight a little higher than what I wanted especially as I play on a links course so needed a more piercing trajectory. I played a round at a parkland course and enjoyed it there but as my club is links I wanted a ball more suited to the course and my needs. I switched to a Bridgestone tour B XS to try but again the flight was too high. I’m now playing pro v1 and I just love it for what I need.

  21. Whatever you do please do not discontinue this ball. As a high spin player I love this ball.
The performance around the green is perfect. Used to be a V1x player then went to the TP5X.
This ball brought me right back to Titleist. Please keep this ball in the line up.
