I was playing the ProV1 and TP5x ball before trying the Left Dash ProV1x. The LD is a monster. Very long ball from the reduced spin. The feel was a little hard. If Titleist could make that cover feel a little softer off irons and the short shots, holy smoke, it would be the most incredible ball on the market.

Started playing this ball this weekend. Nice feel off all clubs and distance is great. Good feel on and around greens and off the putter. Was playing the AVX but will stay with this model...
  3. I recently ordered a dozen after trying a sleeve the week before. I have been very happy with ball flight (was playing Pro V1 before). They also seem to be plenty soft around the green as well. I had heard that they were kinda hard like the AVX. I think that I have may have found a winner!

I may not be the best to submit a review for this, but I will try! I usually play the X so I'm used to a firmer ball - however I don't like it *too* firm off the tee and that was my initial worry when reading these were supposed to feel firmer than the X. I took my first tee shot and barely noticed a difference in feel which I was happy about. Approach and around the green this ball did what was advertised - short irons hit and rolled out a tad but wedges hit and stayed in place with no rip back from spin. I was able to confidently chip and pitch with this ball and actually had some of my closest approach shots using it. With all of that being said, I do not believe that I am in the target audience for this ball, seeing that it only is fit for around 5% of golfers. I will go back to the regular X once my LD supply is done with.

I played the ProV1x since it first hit the market. I found it was the best performing all around ball for me, and very long as well. When the ProV1x became the higher spinning ball on irons (compared to the ProV1), it caused me a lot of confusion around ball choice. I liked the feel of the ProV1x, as I was accustomed to having played it for over 15 years, but I didn't want more spin on any shots. So I experimented with the ProV1 and have had a hard time finding my ball of choice again. The 2019 ProV1 performs well, just a little softer than I'm use to.. But for me, I still preferred that slightly firmer feel. So I tried the ProV1x Left Dash in hopes that it was a resurrection of the old ProV1x ball. Well, it absolutely is a lower spinning ball and it's quite long, so from an engine standpoint it's everything you could want for a ball speed and spin management solution. But the cover is just a tad too firm on the short shots. I wish they could get that cover just a hair softer to feel more like the ProV1x ball, but perform as it does. And I can honestly say if they figure that out, no ball on the market would be within miles of it.
  6. I made the switch from ProV1x to ProV1x Left Dash recently and I love the dash! Low spin off the longer clubs with slightly more distance with the same shot stopping capability has sold me. Great ball!

If there is any prototype testing around this kind of ball, count me in.
  9. I've been playing the ProV1x for a few years and really thinking about giving Left dash a try. I saw a lot of ProV1 switched to the left dash and was wondering what the x players thought.

The transition from ProV1x to ProV1x Left Dash won't feel like a huge transition imo. Slightly firmer, but nothing you can't adjust to. To go from a softer ball like the regular ProV1 to the Left Dash, that might be a little more jarring to your sense of feel for a shot. That's how I felt about it. But if the ball performs the best, you'll recalibrate your senses with some time with the ball.
  11. I've been playing ProV1 X forever, for 18 club championships. Recently, I went to other balls with less success. I went back to X and it's great. I have tried the left dash, and it's a great ball. It reminds of the X from 10 years ago. Unfortunately,10 years ago I hit it way harder and spun it more. Now, it's for others but I loved the height it delivered and how it looked. Stay well

BTW, and forgive the bragging, but got #19 with ProV1X (yellow) last weekend. Thanks Titleist, ProV1 remains the ball others want to be. Oh, and my pro gave me a couple more sleeves of left-, so I'll be firing those around soon. It's like Christmas, only better !

I've been switching between the V1x Left Dash and the Bridgestone Tour BX over the past couple of months. As someone who generates more spin than I want, the Left Dash is a great ball with both the driver and mid-long blade irons. The firmness is exactly what I look for, and it's good feedback when you don't hit it flush.

I was a big fan of the pre-2017 V1x and this feels somewhat similar, maybe a touch firmer and with a little more iron spin. Plenty of bite with all wedges, and feels solid on greens of all speeds.

Only complaint on the ball is the low-mid iron launch. The ball can get up into the wind quickly, even when trying to flight it a bit lower.

Hoping the Left Dash stays in the Titleist line up for the future.
  14. After being told by my club fitter that I have high spin, I went on a hunt for a ball that might provide drastically lower spin. I tested two cally balls, all the Bridgestone high end balls, srxn, Snell and finally Titleist. On my launch monitor, I really liked the long carry of the Pro V1x, but I had way too many balooners - insane high spin and really short carry (10000 RPM with a 6 iron, for example). Not every ball I hit balooned, but about 40% did. Too much. On the course I usually play, I had to club up one club and I still spun the ball back too far. The Bridgestone ball spun even more with all four varieties of their premium balls. The Snell My tour ball black performed similarly to the V1x. The AVX and cally Chromesoft (and ERC) provided low spin and great iron carry and are balls that I can game, but all carried 10 yards less than the V1x did (I did not try the V1). At my wit's end, I stumbled upon the Left Dash (I'll call it the LD). I was not too hopeful at start because this ball is very hard. Clicks with iron hits unless it is absolutely pured. But...carry was great, further than the V1x, but not by much. Iron spin was very similar to the AVX.

I took the LD out to my course a few days ago. Right off the first tee, the ball carried further and rolled further than most drives I've hit on this hole. As the round continued, I found myself enjoying playing again. Drives were long. Approach shots with the high number irons did carry further than I'm used to as I overshot several greens (using my rangefinder). This ball does not hit and stop with irons like the higher spinning balls, but performed like the new AVX and the ERC. I had to remember to plan to land the ball about 5 yards in front of the pin. I was able to drop and stop with the 50 and 56 degree wedges. It took me only a few holes to adjust to the hard feel while putting.

For me, the best feature is the added carry and roll out caused by the lower driver spin. I was hitting one club less to most greens, which helped offset the lower mid and short iron spin.

I am fully sold on his ball. This ball fits my game quite well. I plan to stock up.

  15. So this is an exciting post for me to bookmark.

I’ve just ordered some left dash balls to try. I’ve only been playing golf regularly for a very short while and have been mostly using the chrome soft x. It’s a nice ball but I still believe I get too much spin. I’ve tried a lot of balls and that’s probably something I really need to cut out and just stick with one(hopefully this one).I’ve been watching some reviews on YouTube - especially the guys at TXG and from their data and discussion this seemed the right ball for me.

I’m super excited to try these and hope I finally settle on a ball.

I will report back my findings once I get the chance to try.
  16. Been thinking about switching from ProV1 to AVX for less spin but I'll try the left dash for sure!!
  17. Hi, Went to a titleist ball fitting last week with joe, great experience, was fitted for left dash and was 2k less spin with a seven iron and seemed to stay in the air longer, firmer off the driver and again a little longer than my normal pro v1x..... traded in three dozen prov1x so good to go now with left dash....... firmer feel off the putter but I like that, reminds me of the older prov1x. Thanks for offering to the public and offering during a fitting.... amazed at the difference in performance between pro v models and avx
  18. If you can get fitted...... trackman doesn’t lie, and Joe the titleist guy was great, Same stop but 2k less spin = better flight and more distance vs Pro V1X

  19. Currently play ProV1s but interested in trying the LD. My big concern is the change in feel, especially on putts. Anyone make the switch from V1s to LDs?

I currently play the Pro V1 and am exploring making the switch to the left dash. I’ve started off on the putting green and chipping area. Other than the left dash feeling slightly firmer I did not see a major difference between the two. I then went to a local municipal course where they have a trackman you can rent and I spent some time hitting wedges, 7 irons and 3 irons. The left dash was a little higher flying and a little lower spinning than Pro V1 but nothing terribly different. My next step will be to play a local par 3 course and see how they feel, any differences I can see/feel. Right now I’m thinking I will switch as I like a higher flight and was spinning the regular Pro V1x too much. I’m not a huge fan of the firmer feel but figure it’s something I can get used to.

    Thanks, Sean! Helpful information.

I wound up ordering a couple dozen yesterday, somehow Titleist already shipped and they arrived today! Going to have fun testing these over the weekend.
  22. I've generally played Pro V1x but for no particular reason decided to try the Left Dash ones for this year's Loyalty Rewarded promo order (4 dozen for price of 3). They play very similar to Pro V1x but I do like the firmer sound and feel of the Left Dash.

Since you mentioned putting I'll say this. The last couple months I have been on my best stretches of putting, ever. A few mediocre putting rounds mixed in but most have been above average (for me) to really excellent putting. I don't know if it is the firmer click Left Dash makes off the putter but the improvement more or less happened at the same time as switching from the regular Pro V1x.

Of course putting is a streaky business and I might go on a bad streak tomorrow. But it's the first time I've ever considered "blaming" a change of golf balls for improving my putting.

    Huddersfield,

Tried the left dash recently at a ball fitting, the flight didn’t work for me, as it basically went straight up and down and robbed me of carry distance
  25. So far working great. I got a few from my buddy Jimmy Walker a few years back, and when the came out bought more. As a high spin player in Texas, lowing the spin is great for in the wind. I have not seen any change in distance, but do notice a a slight feel change to a harder ball. Do notice the less spin and appreciate it very much.
