I got to try the Tour Speed (thanks for the sleeve!!!) over the course of 4 rounds and found that I absolutely loved the ball! These couldn't have come at a better time as I was transitioning out of Bridgestone and starting to play more ProV1s but in the interim, what a great opportunity to test this ball!

Feel- The ball felt soft to say the least. While an unorthodox term for a ball, I call it "smooth", meaning it didn't feel like a rock, the contact at the ball felt soft yet crisp sound and feedback.

Distance/Flight- To me, the distance is where this ball shined brightest. I really felt like I was able to LAUNCH this ball off the tee. I never once felt like it was all swing or all ball. It had a harmonious balance between ball and swing, which made me feel like I really hit the ball long off the tee to where I wanted it to go. I'd give this ball an 11 out of 10 if I could in this category.

Spin- For me personally, with my wedges and short irons, I can back up a ProV1 anywhere from 3 to 5 feet consistently on the greens. The TourSpeed didn't have that for me. It did have stopping power which I enjoyed. That ties into the control category for me, in that I never once felt that the ball was going to release on me unless I needed it/tried to do so.

Extra/Wrap-Up- Just wanted to add that the alignment arrow on this ball was something that immediately jumped off the ball to me. I really enjoyed it and thought it was cool. It gave me a ton of confidence on the green. Based on the outer casing of the TourSpeed, I'd say it's main "competition" is a Bridgestone ball and it absolutely should dominate that market space. Thank you again for letting me try out the TourSpeed ball and I'd recommend it hands down to any Bridgestone or cally ball user.

How come better than a cally?

I tried the three ball set yesterday and I was very impressed. It has a great feel and good distance with the driver and long irons. I got an extra 10 yards which surprised me. The trajectory was a little lower but the penetrating ball flight was outstanding. The soft feel with the wedge and the spin stops the ball quickly on the greens. I need to get use to the softness of the ball with the putter. I really liked this ball and went out to buy a dozen for my next round. I would definitely recommend this ball.

I sounds like this ball might have application to when you play a course with extra soft greens that could cause a V1 to cause too much backspin on your more lofted scoring irons? Distance control is always a bugger.

For the sleeve I received, I started by putting on both flat and sloped greens--impact off putter was a bit crisp compared to my normal ball but easily adjusted to it. I could spin chips where needed to get a ball to stop and on longer pitch shots, had nice control with roll out. Next day was the course test and considering my opening hole with this new ball was a birdie, it certainly was well received for the maiden voyage. Off the driver, it held its line good in a 6mph wind and had a lower trajectory comparatively. Iron feel was the correct degree of soft for my medium swing speed where I still have the feeling of compressing the ball. Two final results--77 for the round which I am quite happy with and opted to purchase a dozen to play for the next few weeks. I played the same ball on the following day as my first trial, and saw the same type of consistency and performance. Well done by Titleist IMO.

I very much liked the performance of the sleeve of Tour Speed balls. Driving distance wasn’t markedly different than other Titleist balls for my swing speed. Where the difference came in was spin on pitch and lob shots. This ball seems to have a really nice soft cover that my club grooves dig into and produce good spin from 100 yards to 30 yards in to the green. It works well on damp or dry greens alike and stays on line for bump and run shots too. I like the feel when the putter strikes it - slightly more crisp sounding than the PV1 for me, and yet nice and soft on those pitches and lobs. Once work on this one!

Titleist just cost me money! I was very content and confident to play last generation Chrome Soft Truvis, which I purchased 4 dozen at $29.99 on sale from Roger Dunn. That was until my free sleeve of Tour Speed arrived unexpected. I was able to use the sleeve on a round played this past weekend and was very impressed.

Feel- It felt equal to the Chrome Soft when putting, which I really like. Yet the fairway shots were firm and really flew off the club.

Distance/Flight- This is where I am sold on the Tour Speed. The ball really took off and actually flew like a 2 piece distance ball. I saw at least 5 yards more on equally hit shots to the cally ball I am currently playing.

Spin- As a higher handicap I am not the best to gauge spin, however when I did hit shots into the green, the ball did check up and spin nicely. I would say equal to the Chrome Soft.

Conclusion- Great ball for all handicaps looking for a fast flight, great distance and soft feel. Only downside for me is it is not not yet available in yellow. I did exchange the 4 dozen cally Chrome Soft Truvis and purchased 3 dozen of the Tour Speed in white.

Loved it! Feel is what stood out first. Putting the True Speed was very nice. The new urethane cover gives you immediate response. Around the green I could really get feedback on my chips. Off the tee it felt solid and not spongy. All of rounds with it I enjoyed the stop and drop capability. No crazy spinning backwards. Felt confident I could go at it without spinning out of the 10-12 ft range. Titleist has a Winner in this new offering! Thanks for letting me provide feedback.

I really like the ball but need to test more to get more accurate results. It was very similar to Bridgestone rx. The only thing lacking was green side spin control and durability but maybe I really abused the ball or my new wedges tore them up. Great distance, feel and control otherwise.

Got the sleeve of Tour Speed to test last friday and put them to the test immediately! Coming from trying the EXP01 I was glad I got these to try and curious what they would be like.

First impressions the cover is a hair softer then my AVX when performing the bite test, yes literally biting the golf ball! You would be surprised to know how much you can learn from biting a golf ball!

My bite results carried over to the course. As I mentioned I normally play the AVX and off of driver/woods/irons the Tour Speed performed the same as far as distance goes with holding direction better with a tad softer feel. Honestly not real noticeable unless you are hitting AVX and Tour Speed back to back on every few shots like I was. Around the greens is where I felt it was a little more noticeable in the softness aspect. I did find it to have a little less spin around the greens then I am used to as well. Putter was just a hair softer again, not a bad thing I was just not used to it. Once my club gets them in I will buy a dozen and see if they can knock the AVX out of my main ball but overall for a new to market ball it has a great start! I play the AVX (the previous model) and I'm extremely happy with it. I understand the new model is even better, especially around the greens. I am intrigued by this ball, but only if it outperforms the AVX.

I also was sent a sleeve of the Tour Speed balls to test and was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked them. I also started with the short chips and putts and found it to have a soft feel without being too soft. With short irons the feel and distance control was very good without over spinning on full shots. Mid and long irons performed well with a nice launch. We have had 10 inches of rain in the last 14 days so even 5 irons stick on our greens right now. So having said that, I cannot tell how the spin is on the mid and long irons. With the driver the launch was a little higher than my current ball but again I cannot tell the spin is enough to reduce rollout and overall distance enough to be a problem. All in all I really liked the ball and am surprised to admit I And considering a change. I have even been price shopping them already.

Thank you for the opportunity to try the new Tour Speed. I tried the EXP-01 when you sent it out and now tried this ball. I compared the NEW Tour Speed with the three balls (PRO V1, NEW AVX, NEW Bridgestone BX S) I put into play at different times this year.

For context, I am a 53 year old, scratch golfer (index as of this post is a +1.0) who plays the same miz MP-32 blades since 2005 along with my trusty Scotty Cameron 2018 Laguna (LOVE this putter)

I played 9 holes with the Tour Speed against the BX S (current gamer) and spent an evening putting and chipping with it and the other balls listed above. When I played 9 holes side by side with my current gamer it held its own throughout the round. Birdied 3 of first 4 holes, so the test could not have started better.

Observations:
Off the tee (driver and 5W) - ball really moves. Slightly lower trajectory than my current ball but very solid feel , but held its line without a lot a spin

Irons - Shots with short to mid irons ball performed as desired/expected. Distance control and spin were solid. Ball released or spun back when I expected. The same for the few long irons I hit.

Chipping and pitching - I had to only make minor adjustments as it spins slightly less than the PRO V1 and BX S ball. Green side control is very solid for a non-premium tour ball

Putting - For me and only for me, the ball did not come off the putter like the other balls, especially the PRO V1 and BX S. It is solid but (and apologies for the choice of words) felt a little dead.

Overall summary

Distance -Excellent. As long as anything I tried all year

Spin - Very Good/Excellent for a ball in this category

Control - Very Good/Excellent for a ball in this category.

Feel - Very Good off woods, irons and wedges. Off the putter (again for me and only me) it left a little to be desired. .

Bottom line- Another solid, trustworthy product from Titleist. I will recommend this ball to my playing partners to try. It has a lot to offer at a great price.

Great review and agree with the dead of putter. I played the B Tour BXS last year and now Pro V1 or BX. Tour Speed reminded me of the XS but felt even softer in short game and putting.

I tried your new golf ball on Hacienda Hills Country Club golf course in The Villages, Florida on 11 August 2020.

I noticed that the feel of it (the hit) seemed to be the same as my Bridgestone RX 330 golf ball on the course today. The first hit was a fade to the right of the fairway on a par 5, and I failed to notice that it was a little longer hit than my normal drive as I was still 270 yards away, but a good lie. A 7 iron set up a nice 111 yard hit into the green.

The second hole was a par 3 that was 129 yards long. My normal 7 iron shot is 130 yards. I hit it pure and drove the ball 140 yards to the sand trap that was wet sand. It was not possible to determine how the ball responds in wet sand and an impossible shot to hit clean.

On hole number 6, I drove the ball 200 yards for the fist time on that hole which is 10 to 15 more yards than normal.

On hole number 7 and a par 3 at 137 yards, my 6 iron drove the ball 150 yards to my chagrins and over the green, again ten yards further than normal.

Hole number eight was a better story as I hit the ball 191 yards to the right in a spot with sparse grass. I nailed a 5 iron 155 yards to make it 6 feet past the flag and putted the birdie.
Hole number 9 is a short 291-yard hole and I nailed a 5 wood within 101 yards out and hit the flag pole with a pitching wedge shot. The ball hit the pole so hard that it bounced 10 feet back of it at 7 o’clock location on the green.

Hole number 11 I hit the ball 188 yards with just 91 to the flag.

Hole number 15 I hit the ball 203 yards with 62 yards to the flag and too close for my short game with the thick uncut rough in front of the green.

On number 17 par three I hit the ball to 20 feet of the flag at 9 o’clock on the second cut to make par.

I found unusual places like fairway traps and bunkers around the green as I wasn’t able to know that I hit the ball on average 10 yards further every hit. My next outing on Friday, I will adjust and gage my distances to the ball and the lower club. I was lucky that I didn’t lose any of the three balls this outing.

Its a good ball, I have played 36 holes with the first one out of the 3 pack so it is looking pretty used, but the distance is comparable and maybe a little longer than the V1 and it performs well on the green.

I started my golf career a few decades ago using the Titleist Tour Balata, then Titleist Professional, and now have been a loyalist to the ProV1. I had a 54 hole annual family tournament this past weekend and I decided that for around 1 I would put the Titleist Tour Speed into play. I hit the same rate of fairways but I seemed to gain 15-30 yards on my drives. The Tour Speed also was received well by the green on approach shots. I knew the Tour Speed would
Live up to the Titleist on the greens as I had started my day off on the putting green testing the playability of the ball. The other golfers in my group were interested in the new ball and after only using one ball for the round, I passed out the remaining ball to two of the players in my group, they are high school golf team members, and I asked them to report back to me about the ball. Just today I received word that they both loved the new Titleist ball. You have hit another home run Titleist!

Got the sleeve in the mail which was a surprise. (Thanks Titleist) Went to the putting green that night and tried it comparing a ProV1 and chrome soft, which has been my choice lately. This ball is definitely the softest of the 3 but not in a bad way. Rolled out nicely on putts. I did notice a difference in the cover feel off the putter compared to v1 and chrome soft, not terrible but definitely different.

Put it play for 2 rounds of my senior club championship. It was longer and a little higher ball flight for me off the tee compared to V1. You feel the softness off your clubs but it travels well even with my high ball flight. Was surprised with how it stopped on the greens as I usually don’t spin my irons. Had to adjust for that but that isn’t a problem. Chips well but you feel the softness.

Prices don’t enter in my decision to purchase balls, just what works the best for me. Will look to purchase a couple more sleeves of the Tour Speed and continue my comparisons.

Played the Tour speed for a couple of rounds. Very soft. Lands very soft and does not run out a lot on lobs. Does check surprisingly well on shots from 20-30 yards. I usually play the ProV1X because of the control and benefits around the green, but this ball is also very playable. Not sure I am getting the same distance off the driver because of the X’s high launch. However, I have an 8.5 TS4 and perhaps a higher launch with the tour speed is just a matter of adjusting the loft. Was definitely 8-10 yards longer with the irons and the ball stops well, often within a club length of the ball mark. What I really noticed was some “forgiveness” on mishits. I hit two irons a little thin (one 6 and one 8 and they still made the green and were about 20 ft from the hole. A lot of things to like about this ball.

Thanks to Team Titleist for selecting me for the Tour Speed ball test! I am a 50+ year-old mid-handicap who doesn’t have the swing speed I had in my 20’s and 30’s. I was on the test panel for the AVX, and while I liked the distance gains I experienced, I wasn’t thrilled with the low ball flight, and I often saw my iron shots roll off the back of the green. The Tour Speed — like its prototype brother the EXP 01 — has a higher launch than the AVX, but it has a penetrating, straight flight. Versus the higher spin tour balls, I’ve easily gained 10 yards off the tee, and half a club off the irons. The Tour Speed is also easy for me to compress off my long irons, and side spin seems to be reduced. I don’t zip my short irons and wedges back anymore, so the best I can expect from a tour-level ball is to make it drop-and-stop. While the Tour Speed doesn’t quite get to that level for me, it does have a predictable roll-out that keeps my approach shots on the green. As for putting, the ball feels great off my Scotty Cameron 009. I guess I didn’t need to hoard up a few dozen EXP 01’s after all — when they are gone, the Tour Speed will be my new ball!

The first time I tried them I used the green to tee fitting chart on a par 3, 4 and 5 then played 9 holes. I was very amazed with the performance the first time I hit it. Off the tee I gained 10 yards - The ball is hot., shots into the green felt solid and reacted the way I wanted it to - didn't release too much and the spin was great. It gave me great carry and roll out on tee shots. It felt great off my putter. Overall I was amazed by the performance and feel. I am a feel player and this ball is just what I've been looking for.. I let a friend try one and they felt the same way. It gave the distance of a 2-piece ball but without the hard fee. Titleist has a winner in this ball. I've already ordered 4 dozen. I will recommend this ball to all my golfing friends and students.

What can I say...? Home run! No-grand slam! This will be my go to ball going forward! I have to thank the Titleist team for sending these my way. I have used a comparable Taylor Made ball (Project A) for a few years now but was looking to play something with a little more zing, the Tour Speed definitely has it. The first thing that caught my eye was the alignment graphic. As you can tell from the picture I like to mark an alignment cross on the balls I play with to help with putter alignment. The graphic is very clear and precise. The font is clear and looks the part as it makes the ball seem very premium.

This may sound weird but I have a test that I put all golf balls through before I use them out on the course. I grab a ProV1 and the new ball in question and I tap them together. I dislike, I mean I truly hate a marshmallowy ball. I know many will think I am crazy but if a ball is too soft it completely puts me off it. I found the Tour Speed to compare similarly to the ProV1X in that aspect. Even off the tee or on a longer iron shot it seems almost harder/clicky like the V1X. I found the ball to really spring off the face at contact on distance shots. Yet, around the green, especially with the putter, just true perfection. I will say that the ball did a good job hitting the brakes on approach shots, but not too much spin either. Which I totally prefer. I have the tendency of approaching the green from a very steep angel. At times this may lead to a ball spinning right off the front of a green. The Tour Speed is pretty much exactly where I need it to be.

The last (2) things that I look for in a ball are durability and price. Durability was another strong point as I have had other balls (including other Titleist models) cut/nick from a couple of rounds. As you can tell from the pics, zero issues. My one sticking point is price. I think a fair market price would be $35 per dozen. I believe I read that Titleist is considering a $39 price point. If they are priced at $35, you have earned my business for years to come.

I tried the Titleist Tour Speed today for 3 holes at my home course. I’ve read positive reviews by others, both today and in the past. For me, the ball was good, but I’m going to stick with my Pro V1. I found that iron shots, chipping, and putting were all comparable to what I’m used to. Off of my driver, I lost about 7-10 yards of distance. The ball seemed to have a higher trajectory for me than a Pro V1. To each his own. I would honestly tell anyone to give them a try and see how they work out—a ball is just like any other individual piece of golf equipment, and worthy of an honest tryout.

No longer play the Tour Soft, but if memory serves me, the ball is very similar to the Tour Speed.
I'm looking to spend less on golf balls, not more. At the current price point, I'll have to pass on this ball.

I really liked the Tour Speed ball. Really added distance and carry on the fairway Tested at Lincolnshire Fields CC in Champaign and The Blue Course in Savoy,IL I was getting really good height I dont spin the ball well so Ball still had trouble settling on the green with my wedges.
Putting was the best part as it rolled true and my putting was awesome With the ball and TS1 Driver I was adding about 30 yards a drive
