  1. I use the Scotty Cameron cart bags and have the same problem with it falling over even on level surface. I understand it is meant for a cart only but there are plenty of times where you need it to stand on its own. Not sure why there isn’t a slightly larger base like the staff bags that would make these bags stand on their own and still fit in the carts. Seems like there could be an aftermarket fix for this like a rubber cap to put on the bottom that would widen the stance and add some stability to them. This issue has me considering other bags which is a bummer because the Scotty ones are so cool looking and functional otherwise.

Well, I'm hoping they've worked this issue out. Just pre-ordered the Cart 14 bag.

Even staff bags are susceptible to falling over. Caddies lay them on their side most of the time unless they are standing right there with them. The weight of golf clubs is more towards the top, even greater if you have lighter shafts. A gust of wind, someone walking by that accidently bumps it, or uneven turf where you stand it can be a problem. I would use the racks at the clubhouse or lay them down until you secure them on a cart. Building up the base would just create other problems for people who like to keep these bags connected to a pull cart. Sorry this model is not working well for you.
  4. came across a similar review posted in 2019, talking about the Cart 14 tipping over

anyone have experience with a more recent model that can comment on if this tendency still exists?

    thank you

As a retired aircraft engineer I can say it's going to keep happening unless the weight mass is lower than the with of the bag. The lighter the clubs shafts (graphite or light steel) or the more off-center that they are loaded in the bag, the more likely they will fall over. Add additional off-center weight like a dozen balls in a side pocket and it will get worse. No bag manufacturer is going to build a bag so wide at the base or so heavy at the base that it solves that problem because it will be too uncomfortable to carry or won't fit on the carts. Maybe a disclaimer should be added to the bags like the ones on every car visor? I think I will stick to the bags with legs. :)
