  1. Would love to give the AVX 2020 a try!️‍♀️️‍♀️️‍♀️
  2. Folks,
I need some help. I am 78 years old and I have played golf for 70 of those years. I now break 90 most of the time from the white (not the forward tees) tees, but I am disappointed with that score. My swing speed is 80 mph.

I would appreciate any suggestions you may have to improve my score.

    Thanks,

    Tony Cronin
  3. When buying new golf balls why doesn’t the manufacturer put a suggested swing speed on the box?

Thank you in advance for your comments.

Titleist leaves that marketing tool to other OEM's. Among the various responses in the section on Golf Balls, actual end users don't evenly fall into X driver speed = X balls. Every ball needs to respond at a full range of ball speeds, from lob wedges to driver.

Each golfer needs to identify what they expect from a ball (soft/firm, higher spin urethane/lower priced ionomer cover) and pick the closest 2 and compare. It could be V vs. X or V vs. AVX, or AVX vs. TourSoft. But club head speed is not a distinguishing characteristic in the selection.

While my club head speed might suggest TruFeel, I definitely prefer the feel and greenside characteristics of the Pro-V1 and price is not as important for me. Even for me, I prefer the V over the prior AVX now that I have the T-400. I previously preferred the AVX. When the next release comes out next year, I may add a comparison with the X as well. Even though Justin Thomas' head speed is close to my ball speed with the X.

  6. have yet to try this ball.My choice has been Pro V x .for several years. After reading all the positive highs concerning this ball i will try it this weekend.wish me good fortune.
  7. I am a believer in the Titleist AVX. Previously was playing Titleist Velocity and switched to the AVX for added spin around greens and control off the tees. BAM! Four holes in one in the last 21 months. I'm sold.

I've used the original AVX for more than a years. I love it. I need the lower ball flight more than the extra distance. I purchased a couple dozen's of the new AVX but I haven't played them because I have a few more sleeves of the original AVX. With the pandemic my rounds are down. The reviews are exciting and I look forward to migrating to the new AVX.
  9. Boys high school golf coach and ordered three dozen AVX and get the fourth free for the team this spring. The pandemic cancelled our spring golf season. We are waiting to play the 2020 version of the AVX since we have not been allowed to meet as a team according to the high school guide lines. Yet I hope to give them a sample to play when school starts up hopefully this August.

Took a yellow and a white AVX out to the practice green for some chipping and putting. Not quite as responsive on chips as the ProV1 but the feel off the putter was nice. I'm excited to try one on the course next time I play. I'm just waiting for temps to drop into the 80's as our highs have been in the 90's almost daily (with high dew points).
  11. Would love to try the new Titleist AVX out. Currently play the Tour Soft and love it. Thanks in advance

It's a good ball, but, I know this is going to sound crazy, it's too long off my irons. It's about a half club longer than the prov1x that I usually play, and that half club is a difficult adjustment.

New Titleist AVX is amazing. I’ve been playing ProV1 since 2001, this is the first time I’ve seen a ball perform like this in 20 years to make me put it in play over a ProV1. I spent so much time testing the AVX against the ProV1/x and the results just don’t lie. Less spin on longer shots, but soft feel and performs so well off the wedges and putter. I was very skeptical, but not anymore. This ball is the real deal.
