    Played a course had pool noodle but thinner than usual. Allowed ball to fall against the pin but not drop.

    The device that Rooster posted is the best solution. But hopefully by the time every course could get them, we wouldn't need them anymore. The pool noodle or PVC would be the best as long as it is sunk low enough that the ball can actually fall below the lip at least partially
