What is the best golf wisdom you have ever heard?

Mine is simple: Golf is played on a 6 inch course--the 6 inches between your ears.

Golf is not a game of how great your great shots are, it's a game of how good your poor shots are.

"It's not life or death, it's just a game". But it's probably the hardest thing for me to remember while on the golf course.

I was notorious for having a very fast back swing - my college coach once said to me, "You don't hit the ball on your backswing, slow it down". Has worked wonders ever since!

If best means what benefited my personal swing most, then it's from my coach who said, "Stay Still"

A par 4 hole.my tee shot was slightly to the right and landed on hard dirt near a root. The second shot was up hill and blind to the pin and the green. Used a hybrid and landed about 4 feet from the cup to my surprise and best of all made the putt for a birdie!

When I was first learning how to play, an elderly gentleman told me not to be so hard on myself. This game isn't like hoops, or baseball, or football. Which all came very easy to me. The advice really helped me enjoy the learning process much more enjoyable.
