My coldest round was this past Saturday with a couple of my buddies. 38 degrees near Green Bay, WI. Wore my new TT winter hat, had a handwarmer aroind my waist, 4 layers and wool socks. Used the FJ Winter Sof gloves and was comfortable through 9 holes. It snowed on Sunday and will warm up to 45 degrees this weekend. Plenty of golf left before Wisconsin winter.

When I lived in NY I've played when it was in the low 40's. Now that I'm in FL I'm spoiled. If It's below the mid 50's at tee time, I'll wait 'til later when it warms up.

Last Sunday the tee off for our scramble was 39 degrees, it was windy and overcast all day, so it was about 49 when we ended our round.

Last week I golfed both courses at Sand Valley. Teed off Tuesday morning on the Sand Valley and the temperature was 25 degrees F. By the end of the round it had warmed up to a balmy 33 degrees F. It also snowed for about 3 holes during the round.

Titleist winter beanie, winter hand warmer, and plenty of layers to keep warm. Thankful to walk to stay warm!

Probably April 19th, 2016. Played in the week-long Links Golf St. Andrews Golf Week. Cold rain all week but the last day playing The Old Course was exceptionally cold. We had sleet for about three or four holes. Anywhere else and I would have been miserable but hey, it's St. Andrews. Had a blast and was glad to be there.

i’m not sure if it’s the coldest day ever that i played, but i had just started playing, had i believe only 2 rounds played in my career, then me and some work buddies went on a trip to myrtle beach. first course we played it was Marsh Harbour and it was pouring rain, cold and my first tee shot i hit, the starter was like you just hit your ball into north carolina, lol. i think it did get better as the day progressed thou. I do remember also playing Wicked Stick, the john daly course there and that was so cold, i was like i didn’t even care how i hit it or where it went, i just wanted warmth. Don’t recall ever playing in snow, just some frost thou.

I have played many rounds in the low 30s. Here's a shot from one in particular a few years back. Played a 9i right off the ice/frozen snow and hit the green. It was a choice between taking relief and dropping in the very soft turf or being able to see and know exactly what I had for a lie. I'd rather hit of hard-pan over mud any day of the week.

Also, in the 2nd pic, one March while there was still a lot of snow on the ground, a couple buddies and I played 9 holes mostly in the snow. The pic attached is just of us trying the locate the hole the ball made into the snow when it landed in the fairway. Yes, it was a bit ridiculous, but we were chomping at the bit after a long winter. And besides, there were some areas of the course that you could see green! This just wasn't one of them. I can assure you we weren't wasting good Pro Vs out there!

I've played in 35 degrees with little or no wind, no hand warmers, no golf gloves. Normal dress with a stocking cap & hoodie. As long as my upper body is warm I stay warm. My hands stay warm too.

We just had snow this Monday/Tuesday of this week & 1" of rain Wednesday. Temps are pushing 50's & 60's this weekend. Might try to play Sunday if possible.

Can't wear gloves of any kind and play golf. Even in the warm months no golf glove.

Massachusetts Four Ball Championship (many years ago), 2nd round at Duxbury Yacht Club. It's played in early May, and it can still get chilly in New England, even in May. I don't know how cold it was with the wind, but when we finished the temp was around 40. The clubhouse had a huge fireplace, and you had to fight for a spot!!

Come to think of it, you had to fight for a spot at the bar too.
  11. I’m playing with my brother wife an led daughter this Saturday and it’s gonna be a bit nippy out there...low 40s. Gotta love the game to be out there instead of a warm cozy bed!

My buddies and I teed off at The Frog last year,it was 28 degrees with a 20 mph wind in our face. All bunkers were frozen and stayed that way all day. We had a ball.
  17. Used to play regularly in cold weather in high school in PA when the golf season was in the Fall. For some reason the PIAA thought that golf in mid 30s-low 40s weather was a good idea. We played through snow and sleet and all kinds of bone chilling weather.
The round I remember the most was at the old Hershey Park Course during district qualifying, snow all day and never got out of the 30s. That was a really nice public track, unfortunately like the song says, they paved paradise and put up a parking lot.
  18. I had a good time reading all of the tales. I do have a couple of questions. I live in So. Carolina and if it gets into the 30's there is usually frost and the starters won't let anyone out until it warms enough to melt the frost. So what kind of grass do they have that you can walk on when frozen? Before moving south we lived in Wisconsin and during the winter when there was snow, the courses in and around Milwaukee closed for the season. So how did you guys get out on the course to play? Sneak? But even with the frost I'm glad we came south so I can play all year. Stay safe everyone and have good holiday seasons.

We not normally not allowed on the course when the temp is below freezing because of frost.......that is a no no in the South......we just wait on the sun to come out and the superintendent gives us a thumbs up.......but to answer your question somewhere in the thirties....have lots of FJ layers......

I had just bought a set of Titleist Dci’s and it was January in Ohio. Teed off at 20 degrees and had to put through a little snow on the 9th.

In Wisconsin, the ceremonial end to the year is Thanksgiving weekend.
-The “turkey two-ball” has often been played through sleet and snow which then rolls into college football for the afternoon.

Probably mid to upper 30's. Sunny though and somehow we humor ourselves after waiting for the frost delay to be lifted, and convince ourselves that it's not as cold as they say. Sometimes with lots of sun and no wind we actually do fool ourselves. Or is that we are fools our selves?

We're in California. The SCGA Team Play typically starts in mid January. Most of California have fairly nice weather in the winter. However, a few courses are up in the high desert are not. Our course is one of them.

Back in the day when Team Play first started, it was more of a way to show off your club/course and the competitions were just for fun (so I was told) but not anymore. Everyone in the line up were all competitive and were there to play to win.

One of those years- not so long ago, we were scheduled to play against another club whom we loved because of the good guys there and their course was fun, too. They all came to our course for some fun- they won at their matches at their course the prior week so needless to say, they came to close us out. That morning was in the low 40's and the sun was trying to show itself when we all checked in- many happy faces! But in a matter of 20 minutes, just before the first tee time, it got darker and darker... and a few snow flakes started to fall and the double Us started to follow.

It was a miserable day to golf, but the food and bev was good! lol... lol... lol
