I've been very quiet here for the past few months, aside from normal life and everything else that is going on, I've been going through the process of naturalization. And today I've passed my interview, it means that sometime in the next few weeks I will take the oath of allegiance to the United States. It is significant to me, because it has been nearly 20 years that I've lived here, and now I fell accepted into America. I also had my Team Titleist ball marker as a good luck charm during my interview.

Congratulations Elson. While we might not be the perfect country (no such thing) we all are determined to make it the best we can. Welcome.

Congratulations on your journey to citizenship!

Too many of us that are native born take citizenship for granted. Even sadder for us, now that you passed the test, you will know more about the American history and government than many of us.

Speaking of history, I just found out through ancestry research that I am a direct descendant of Peregrine White, the first baby born in America from the group of pilgrims that landed aboard the Mayflower. I wish I had known in 2019 when I was in Boston and did a quick pass of Plymouth Rock on my way to the Titleist Ball Plant 3 Tour.

I got to thank my son, his 6-grade skills helped me study for the test, so we traded his civics knowledge for me helping him with math.
Seriously it was really fun to actually learn more about America and history.

Congratulations! Welcome as a New Citizen. After living in the United States for over 40 years as a resident alien( not from outer space, but sometimes I think she is) my wife finally got her citizenship. The ceremony reminded me of when I took my oath several times as a military member.

No matter what, we have a great country. I know because I've been lucky to travel and see parts of the world who suffers much greater than we do. Enough said.

You've become a citizen, so breathe the fresh air the next time you play on the golf course and enjoy it.

I was very well as a resident alien, but I honestly am very proud and happy to become a citizen, the only sad part is that because of covid there are no guests allowed to the ceremony, but that is nothing when we look at the big picture of all the is going on in the world right now.

Dale is a man of great wisdom. It is truly great to be an American. The freedoms that we have are not truly recognized until one lives outside the states and sees what others do not have. I have been to countries where one dollar day could feed a family for a month. I was proudly born in the US, served in her military, have always looked up the that beautiful red/white/blue and respected "all" that live here. We will be proud to call you an American citizen. You deserve that honor and living here, despite what label we choose to put on our backs, we an American first. The course in life we choose is entirely up to us. With respect.

I hope that you are doing well, I am taking a flag from an old neighbor who also was a veteran and passed away a few years back with me to the ceremony, I can't think of a better way to honor someone who has served our nation without regards to his own safety, than have his memory with me, when I become an American.

Agree Alex, probably a problem is all 40 states. :) All silliness aside, my hope is that we don't hide our history, we learn from it. Heck, this is a golf site so let's make this about golf. The way we get better is to make mistakes and then try not to keep making the same mistakes. Stay safe, better days ahead.

It might be a little bit of emotion taking over me, but aside from the flag I mentioned earlier, I am taking my TT coin a compass that was one of the first gifts I gave my wife when we started dating, to help her to find her way back to me.
And one of our son's baby toys we still have.
All to remind me that I am not alone during the ceremony.
