I've been having some issues getting my usual ball (Titleist True Feel) to stop on the greens, well this issue has been solved by the 2021 Pro V1. I liked the trial sleeve so much that I have decided to permanently switch over to the new Pro V1.

This thing just feels amazing from the tee box to the green. I especially like the responsiveness and feel of the ball while putting. Durability is amazing no visible wear after using the same three balls to practice chipping and putting for several weeks. Thanks Titleist for letting me try out the new 2021 Pro V1 and for converting me.

I received a white box sleeve of the new ProV1’s several weeks ago. But due to weather and other factors I was unable to hit them until this week. I play the optic yellow so I only hit them on par 3’s. I was very impressed, so I purchased a dozen yellow yesterday. I played today and was equally impressed. They are slightly softer, trajectory is slightly higher and spin seems the same. They are everything I was hoping for in a new and improved ProV1. I tried another brand last year because I was wanting a slightly softer feel. But of course, I have not been completely satisfied with that other ball. Now, no worries, the new ProV1 has everything I was looking for. That should not be a surprise, since Titleist has always met or exceeded my expectations. Sure hope the spring deal of 4 dozen personalized for the price of 3 will be offered again this year.

I got a white box at Rams Hill with the TT event and totally forgot it till I got a white envelope in the mail, thanks again. Gave a couple each to a friend and his son. We all agree spinnier around greens, longer by a couple yards and maybe some left dash similarities. Oh and Jr. hits it by us just a little bit more now, so thanks for that too.
  5. How can one identify a new 2021 model Pro V and know it was not the earlier version?
    Thank you.

    Hello TT,

I received a sleeve of the new PROV1s. I just recently was able to take them out and test. The cover looked similar to the AVX in my opinion. I didn't notice too much of a change in ball flight, but did notice some yardage gains. Especially in the shorter irons for me. Not saying this is the case for everybody. The ball felt firmer coming off the putter as well. Overall I was pleasantly surprised with the way the ball performed. Again Titleist knocked it out of the park!

Hope all is well with TT!

Just had a chance to try out the new sleeve on a 70’s day in central FL on a gem likely one of the nicest courses you never hear bout, Pinecrest Golf Club in Avon Park. Beautiful greens.

Loved the new ProV1, seemed a little flatter on the landing off the tee. While I am 58 and just an 11, can still put the ball back in my stance and spin it around the green. I was having a very good ballstriking day and a 79 even with one 7. Tried the last 3 versions side by side on the practice green as well.

Feel was really solid but good spin, not as clicky as the older versions, reminded me of an old friend, the Precept EV Extra Spin circa 1990’s. Very solid feel but not hard. Seems like the dimples are a bit smaller and more numerous and like the look.

Overall, I give the new version best in class for me, not an expert, but still have an opinion to share.

Due to the cold and courses being closed around me, I was only able to do a feel test. I am able to say even the feel test feels different. The ball feels a lot softer off the wedge however it feel increasingly harder as it goes up through the bag. I have also noticed the cover is not as durable as years past. It does not top my favorite Pro V1 model (2017-2018) but it is definitely still a quality ball. Thanks for sending me a sleeve a few weeks ago to test them!

The photos are a durability test, after hitting 30 full wedge shots with a season old, 56° wedge.

Played the PROV1 last few weekends. Found it to be soft off my driver and into the green. Ball stopped on green quick as I do not get spin back on my shots. On my chips found ball to check quick. Putting was nice feel off putter face and roll true. Even on the cold northeast north shore of Long Island. Increased my distance on driver as well. Great new ball. Will keep playing

Thanks for the opportunity to test the 2021 Pro V1. My course finally dried up somewhat so I got a chance to finally try them out. I didn't really think that they make a better ProV1 but you did. The ball felt softer off the driver as well as the irons. I was getting more distance with the 2021 ball. On one hole I always tee off with a 4 hybrid because I know it will not reach the water in front of the hole, well I lost my first ball, into the pond it went. I also like the feel better off the putter. I let my playing partners putt it some and they also loved how it felt off the putter. Looking forward to playing this ball this year.

I decided to play a quick nine before work today with my new Pro Vs. I normally play the Tour speed.

    Distance better. Ball flight better.

What I noticed immediately and throughout the nine holes, the ball checked on the green. Whether it was irons shots or wedges, the ball it rolled and stopped.

I honestly played my best nine holes ever and am fully on board.

    Thank you Titleist.

Ok, so first and foremost, I'm so humbled and grateful for the opportunity to be a tester. Getting that white sleeve of test balls was so awesome! I am also in a colder climate and while I can hit some balls in my backyard (3 acres) I still have yet to do so, my review is strictly based on feel, hitting into a net and putting.

    Feel:
My goodness these feel amazing! My issue for the longest time was that while I liked the softness of the Pro V1, at times it felt squishy off the driver. I love the crack of the driver I get with my Pro V1x but at times it feels too hard around the greens. This new Pro V1x gives me the same firmness off a the driver face, but it feels soft somehow too, without feeling squishy. With my irons, it feels soft like a Pro V1 but it sounds like a V1x... don't know how they did it.

    Spin:
This balls checks, and checks hard. I wouldn't say it hits 2 feet near the pin then spins back 15 feet (that is so tragic), however, it hits near the flag and then just a hop and stop. Incredible! I guess I'm not the best high spin player out there, but I definitely see more check, even though it's just my backyard and it's cold out. Can't wait to see what these do in June on my home course greens!

    Putting:
Off the putter this V1x feels like a V1, which I love. At times with the V1x I feel like I'm putting a rock and I have to be careful because it really takes off on my putter face if I mishit it, but this new V1x feels like butter and rolls true. I haven't cut the ball in half, and I refuse to do that... check youtube, as I'm sure someone has desecrated one of these gems (what a shame!).

    Overall:
Great ball and HUGE upgrade from past Pro V1x balls I've played. Wish they sent me 3 dozen to test, as that would be more accurate to my game, need to test how they interact with water and trees and brush. Are they easier to find? Either way, so grateful to be a recipient of these balls, thank you Titleist, I'm a brand loyalist for life!

I play the tour speed ball and am a 14.8 handicap.

Monday I played the new Pro V1 and noticed an immediate and significant difference in ball flight, trajectory, and the way the ball checked and held on the green.

I felt I played my best nine holes ever and I attribute it purely to the new golf ball, that was the only thing that was new.

I am all in with the new Pro V1.

It’s an instant hit to me and I just want to say thanks to TT for the 2021 Pro V1 box I received. I was delighted to see the new Titleist sleeve at my door. Great feel on drives with a little lower flight and also the new soft feel on irons- want to add that it has the same click sound that I like on my solid strikes as well. Love it around the greens- spins nicely and also has nice feel on putter.
Keep up the great work! #TitleistProV1

I finally was able to get to a Trackman to test out the 2021 Pro V1 test balls that were sent to me.

First of all, thank you very much Titleist. Really appreciate the opportunity to test them out. Second of all, my current gamer call is the 2019 Pro V1X. The primary reason is to help add spin to my mid iron and wedge approach shots. We had Titleist reps at my course one day during our men's league and the rep recommended I go with Pro V1X, so I did.

I was a little surprised when the test box contained V1s instead of V1Xs, but I'm so glad they did. The feel of the 2021 Pro V1 is stupid crazy good. When I was warming up with wedges I remember saying to myself if the numbers are even close I'm going to switch solely based on how great they feel.

I uploaded as many photos as the website would allow me, and I know numbers change drastically between shots so showing a single shot for each ball isn't a great representation. But the primary take away for me after the session was I was getting a slightly higher ball flight from the 2021 V compared to the 2019 X and slightly more spin from the 2019 X on mid irons. Wedge shots they were pretty much the same ball. All that said the feel aspect for me has me really contemplating a switch.

I know others have mentioned that the 2021 X has a softer feel so I will most likely get a sleeve of those from my course and test them all on course. I never noticed it before, but the 2019 X feels like I'm thinning shots now that I've hit the softer ball (confirmed I'm not by foot spray on the face).

More testing to do for sure, but wanted to report my findings so far. Now if only I were able to get outside. Apparently we have snow coming this weekend so it will most likely be quite awhile before I can get outside to test. Come on spring, get here already!

First let me say, I am grateful to the TT crew for allowing me the opportunity to review the 2021 ProV1. It was a lot of fund going through the process. Each version of the ProV1 series continues to impress. The 2021 version held up better to my aggressive swings, especially with my wedges. I used my 58* wedge for full, partial and chipping around the green. I am very comfortable clipping the ball off hard pan, as we have in TX. The previous version used to rip quickly. The first series of photos were taken on two golf balls I only used for 2 holes. Each were a 3W off the tee, which flew perfectly into a cross wind, leaving me a PW into the green from 145 (pin in the back) landing it at 130. The cover ripped and I had to continuously replace those balls. The 2021 version has a soft cover and one that is definitely more resistant to rips. The golf ball below #3 (2021 Version) has little damage and can be used again. I love the new cover.

The golf ball held well in the cross-wind but I struggled a little bit with wind in my face, but I believe that to be my ball striking on those shots and not because of the ball. The ball ballooned on me a couple of times but again that was most likely do to my ball striking.

I really enjoyed hitting this new version off the tee. I played a course where you have to hit a lot of different shots off the tee, stingers, high draws, fades to position yourself for the next shot. This ball help me hit my windows and most impressively I was hitting this ball 10-15 yards farther off the tee with my 3W and 5W. The driver had the same amount of carry (at least to the eye) but rolled out nicely. All in all I would say it's about a half a club increase, which is always fun to see.

Out of the sand is where I also saw improved performance in the cover. The previous version after 3 sand shots (all prior to the round) were chewed up and I couldn't use anymore. The 2021 version held up after 10 shots with limited damage. I didn't use that ball the rest of the day but because I wanted to see how it held up on the course from the beginning. Again, a great change from the previous version.

The feel off the putter its soft and quiet, which is my preference. its so soft and rolls true! I love the new alignment set up on the new ProV1, as you can see on the older versions I draw a line over the old alignment aides but with this new one I don't feel I have to in order to see the line.

Thanks again TT, I loved testing out the new product!

  19. I received a sleeve of 2021 Pro V1 balls. Thank you Titleist for the opportunity to test and give feedback. Quick profile - 1 hdcp, driver swing speed 112, 80 rounds/year, Titleist guy 40 years, exclusively ProV1 since its inception, and I regularly get 2-3 rounds out of a ball. Yesterday, I played 18 (2-man select drive aka Shamble) on my home course in Phx. I could not tell a difference in performance or feel but did notice less durability (see pic). The ball never hit a cart path, however that is the spot where my driver made contact on every tee shot due to how I align it on the tee. In addition, because it was a Shamble I was able to place my ball for approach shots which I did using the alignment line. So essentially, the ball got hit in the same spot 36 times. Upon close inspection, the pattern of the marks suggests the damage was from my approach shots. From a cost perspective, I don’t mind replacing a ball every 18 holes but I am a little surprised by this first test.

Next weekend will be a better test - normal event so the cover should show more even wear.

Thank you Team Titleist for the new ProV sleeve. I loved them. My drives had a more penetrating ball flight than my old version from 2018. I think the biggest benefit with the 2021 ProV is the action on chip shots. Mine had more bite, and even my playing partners gave me compliments on it.

My son gave me his white box Prov1x since he went back to school and I’ve been testing them on my club’s GC Quad Sim. The ball is performing better than the 2020 Prov1x. I’m gaining an extra few yards with tighter dispersion. Most shots are within 5 yards from center line. I will be playing with the new ball this season. Thanks Titleist.
