Links courses are very interesting and I enjoy them when the wind is not howling off the water. Have played some great links courses in Ireland and Nova Scotia. I like them equally, if you hit the ball in the fairway and not try to overpower a course, golf can be fun. With respect.

Have never played a true links course. I really do want to try it out.

This right here. I too have never played a "true" links course. In Northern New York I have played the Lake Placid Club Links course but, while a fine course, it's more links"y"...

Links.... Can be a lot more creative with short game shots.. Take Bandon Dunes, you can putt from 70 yards out!

Both! Each presents its own set of challenges, especially on approaches. Being able to play both styles well is one indication of a complete player.

I prefer links style courses. That does not mean I do not appreciate a good parkland style course. Its nice to have some variety too. For me, my favorite courses of either style are ones where a hole is memorable. I have played courses of both styles and a week later have forgotten what the holes look like. That's a bad sign. I guess the reason I prefer links style is you get more shot options. If my swing just isn't there on a given day, I can usually find a way to bump the ball around a links course and still score. I also find the creative shots to be a little more fun to pull off. I also love the history of golf and that's the type of courses that were played in the beginning of this great game. So, like so much in golf, it boils down to personal preference and thankfully, there are options for everyone.

I prefer Links golf. There are a lot of Parkland style courses on my list of favorites, but I enjoy the open look to Links as well as the challenge of creating shots required for firm conditions and wind as opposed to throwing darts into softer lush greens and fairways.

I like the links style courses. I find that playing a links course requires more imagination and it's nice to have multiple options for the same shot. Finally, there's just something about playing near the ocean or a large body of water.

Both can be equally challenging, depending upon the conditions.

Love them both, and although I have only played a few links courses, it is something very enjoyable.

I used to love playing parklands, however, I have learned to love playing link style courses.

Links first followed by Parkland and anywhere else playing Golf is almost as good!

I definitely enjoy both.

Links courses are where you can get creative around greens, have blind tee shots and other enjoyable variations of shots. The downside would be the conditions, links courses can quickly become painfully difficult when the wind speeds are high.

Therefore, I personally prefer parkland courses. Carved from the trees, beautiful scenery and each hole feels separated from others which gives it a very private feel.

If I had 10 rounds and had to choose between links and parkland, it would be 7 parkland and 3 links.

True links are hard to come by here in PA, But id be down to play them both!

Since I spend less time behind trees and under bushes, I'd say links. Definitely more options to play shots. Prefer the sand on a parkland style course, as they tend to be less penal than a links course.

Links! I don't know why, but I just live links courses. They are so much fun.

Parkland courses for sure! I lose too many balls in the fescue...

Parkland any day for me. Love the trees, water, elevation changes.

I'd have to say Parkland as well. Love the links but prefer the walk in the treed landscape - and the reduced wind is an added bonus for my game!

I enjoy both styles of courses. I have been lucky to play several links courses over the last handful of years and the style of play is enjoyable and different from what i play most of the time.

I agree with Dale V. about that I just want some holes from anywhere I play to stick in my memory.
