Anyone started looking at Flights yet, or am I the only eager one? Looks like it's about the same from Tampa or Orlando airports. Southwest has several daily flights from bWI to both, so it shouldnt' be a problem.

As it gets closer, I may look at a car service vs rental, as they appear to still be very expensive due to demand. Would be willing to share/split with anyone if arrival/departure times were similar.

    Robert:

I’ve started looking. Coming from SoCal. It’s more economical for me to fly direct to Orlando.

I’m looking at car service first but will split a rental.

I’m sure there are la few of us here that will all connect and coordinate.

But I’m happy to share a car service or rental.

I wanted to try for this one but ... I know it's really popular. But I will be at Ballyhack in June though! Can't wait for that one.

Anytime you can enjoy a round (or more) with fellow Team Titleist enthusiasts, it's always a good time! See you at Ballyhack!
  10. I'm also excited to be planning for my first TT event. I've read Steamsong is battling a nematode issue affecting a couple of courses, so hope that is well resolved by September.

Anything outside of a hurricane should make this a great trip. Yes, I did have a late September/early October trip there a couple of years ago cancelled due to a hurricane. Fingers crossed nothing happens this year.

Yep, Hurricane here along the coast of NC, SC, FL, runs June thru the end of November. Part of life. Predicting 22 this year. There will be a chance during that time. Hurricane Hugo hit Charleston on September 22nd, 1989. No worries, we move on.

After your post I did a little research on this. They are having issues with the fairways on Black as well as the greens on Blue and Red which were just redone last year. From what I've read, they are attacking it full force starting about now with aeration and treatments. Being as big a resort as they are, I'm sure that five and a half months will be plenty of time to get it under control. Keeping my fingers crossed though.

I believe a they're putting together a waitlist. It doesn't hurt to get on the list if you don't mind the uncertainty of it.

Good news for #1/2 on the waiting list. I had a reservation for 4 people and a couple had to back out.

If you’re on the waiting list, don’t lose hope. Things happen.

Reservations was HORRIBLE. Over an 75 minute wait on hold, finally got through to agent who was less than helpful when asked about a wait list. Could they not staff for the volume of calls?
Contrast that to getting "It's a beautiful day in Pinehurst" after a couple rings. Streamsong needs to pick up their game

Were you able to get on a waitlist? I didn't realize they still had the waitlist open.

Chuck, I'm persistent too. I jumped on the phone as soon as it was announced, but got the big runaround Felt that the agent was not very knowledgeable and/or helpful. I was hoping to bring my boys again, but was resigned to the fact that I was late and SOL. But for it is starting to gnaw at me now. Circumstances have me questioning if it was fully booked and if she even placed me on the waitlist.

Yes. Was contacted a good while later by email stating that I needed to pay registration for the event. What a surprise. Kinda had written it off and boy was I excited. All of this is controlled by the resort. Out of Titleist hands.

Greg P: I had a similar experience when I tried to get thru in March, thirty minute wait on first call, left message, but am persistent individual, called back and within two minutes talked with a very nice individual, which gladly put me on waiting list with encouraging words, that he "felt I could get in". Fortunately my name made the cut, but do understand the list is pretty long. Wish you the best at this late date. I am sure that Streamsong is in their busy season right now with the announcement of opening of their fourth course. When talking about the resort with friends of mine in the golf community here, most have play there and highly recommend it. Seems to be a very popular destination, like Pinehurst. Pinehurst is old school and maintains that true southern tradition and it's employees are local. As we look at the job market nationwide, the service industry is suffering because of the lack of getting folks to work and the resort is two hours from Orlando and Tampa. Bowling Green is the closest city and the popular is 2800+ in population and declining every year. I am sure this has an effect on their ability to get employees to work in a remote/isolated resort.

I received a notice from the South Carolina Golf Association this week that Streamsong has officially opened the Chain. I know we are scheduled to play the first six of the holes. Here is the information on the layout.

FROM STREAMSONG: We’re excited to reveal the routing, name and logo of Streamsong’s fourth course, The Chain. Created by Coore and Crenshaw Design, The Chain features a six- and 12-hole loop, with the first tees a short walk from the Streamsong Lodge. The Chain gets its name from the remnants of a piece of mining equipment used to hold a dragline bucket in place that was found on site during the routing process.

Along with the 18-hole short course that will play roughly 3,000 yards, there’s The Bucket — a two-acre putting course (twice the size of the existing Gauntlet putting course at Streamsong Black). It’s another feature of the new design, paying tribute to the large dragline buckets used to excavate phosphate ore from the site for decades.

Cheers, all. Might could use one of those buckets to haul me around. =)
